I've used 3 types. Ramline 50rd side by side - The absolute worst magazine I've ever had. I used it one day and returned it. I couldn't believe how bad it was. Eagle international - Decent, but likes to FTF... a lot. Butler Creek - Pretty much perfect. Metal lips over the plastic.

I found the answer to my question. You get rid of the mag catch spring and replace it with a sleve. This makes it compliant with Cat III Cali AW. To detach the mag you would have to take apart almost the entire rifle. You could not use a stripper clip, you would have to load it one by one...

Does anybody make a kit to fix the magazine to the gun, to make it not detachable? I've heard of people doing this with the FAL and the PRT. But I can't find a kit online. Anybody have any links? Thanks

I have the Kel-Tec SU16, but may still buy a Mini14. The Kel-Tec is a very nice polymer gun. But the Ruger stocks are so pretty! I will be getting an M1A and a Garand!
