California AK?

The Kasler list has to name BOTH the make and model.

Well, that is cool - my .223 Saiga is definitely not a CA AW in that case. And hopefully they will never think to make it an AW.

Could someone recommend a FFL to do the transfer in the Sacramento area? And who was doing the group buys? My god i'm excited:)

Go to calguns.net , then go to the legal and political section, once there click on Cali legal .223 self loading rifles disscussion. There should be a few stickys at the top one of them titled NorCal Group Buy. Click on that and read everything closely. If theres any lowers left u can reserve one and go DROS probably in Milpitas. THE DRIVE IS WORTH IT! I drove 2 hours each way to DROS, I'll have to drive it again to pick it up.

Man, I feel sorry for you guys in Kali. You are geting all worked up about getting to legally register a semi-auto AR-15 :uhoh:

And I'm pissed about not having to register machine guns, Kali makes me want to puke :barf:

Good luck with your quest on the AR though and give Feintstien my regards ;)

I know that there are going to be some idiots out there who are going to add a pistol grip and detachable mag to their recievers before they've been listed.

I think your jumpin the gun a little bit on that one.

On a different note, Does anyone else find it absolutely ridiculous that a 14 dollar part can mean the difference between a good day at the range or a felony charge? I know this is an old question.

As long as that $14 dollar part keeps me outta jail I'm perfectly fine. Though its only 3 pieces and costs WAY less than $14, its a small price to pay. Rediculous though that we have to go through all this. "Soon" though....

Man, you guys who bad mouth California are so cool. How original, we've never heard those before. Thanks for helping fellow gun enthusiasts out with your smart a** comments, they really helped us out.

I've been thinking about the AK. I want an AK for my collection, but since the water is "murky" around these guns I may not get one. Like stated above you can't really get an AK with the intent to make a Ca Legal AK. My thought here is I want the AK. And being a citizen of California I cannot go to another state and buy one even if I didn't want to bring it back to Cali. My thought now, is I can buy it legally here, and my intent is to take it out of the state. What good does that do me out of state? I have the satisfaction of knowing I have an AK. And when I visit friends in other states (AZ and UT) I could go shoot it. But lets say I don't get the time to go to another state before the AK is banned... and it does get banned... then I guess I could just keep it here and register it. But I'm not sure how water tight that is. Or if it would even come to that. :p

Are you saying that if you can find an AR lower not on the banned list you can buy and build A legal CA. AR

Steps to getting a CA legal AR with all evil features:
1) buy off list AR receiver gun
2) wait for it to be declared an assault weapon
3) register it
4) take it to gunsmith, have him add all evil features on

Alternative plan:
1) move to another state, purchase AR with all evil features, dont register it with anyone

If you don't mind the drive, there is a group buy in Contra Costa County starting this Sunday for Lauer Custom Weaponry lowers. All the info is at Calguns.net

You might not want to do that. Unless your gunsmith has an AW permit, you can't leave it with them and would have to stay there. It is much easier to build it yourself.

Sorry I haven't been around THR lately, I have been selling PRK legal lowers like a mad man. This thing is most certainly legit and the DOJ has alredy been through my shop and I am not in jail over it. I am now done selling lowers and the paperwork and financial stress that goes with it and am fully moving towards upper supply and sales. For all of you THR members, shoot me an e-mail and mention you are from THR and I might cut you some special deals. I always want to remember my roots. That being said I haven't been too impressed with calguns.net lately, everyone on there seems to be rather rude towards new guys and rather stuck up. It really makes me miss The High Road.

Also if you are a PRK resident and have questions about this whole mess or need help finding one, send me an e-mail and I should be able to help you out. [email protected]

Go get your lowers ladies and gentleman! Go get them now!

Wow El Rojo, I never realized that you were Wes from 10%!! I've seen you around for years and just want to thank you for all your hard work in this whole ordeal.

Yeah, I know. Usually calguns is a nice forum to check out and people are very nice, but recently a lot of people seem to be pretty high strung. I am confident that once this situation calms down a bit, calguns will return to normal.

As do I, thank you El Rojo.

Just two months ago I was just good old El Rojo. Now my cover is completely blown and I am know as 10% Wes. Thanks for your support. I hope to be doing this for some time to come.

Thanks Wes.

When I start purchasing my uppers and lower parts kits, I will be purchasing them from you. I want to support the businesses that got this all started.

I don't know if I got it all started. I was just the idiot that stuck his neck out and was the first one to run with it. I got crushed! Not by the DOJ, not by the ATF, but my own customers and unwilling suppliers. That is alright, I learned my lesson. I would appreciate your business. Plus, I hope to save you some money!
