Less guns, better shooting, more fun.

Fewer guns Over on Pistol Training. com they have a comment about the SIMP factor. It is Simon's Inverse Multiple Gun Paradox (I think). Basically it states that the more guns you bring to the range the worse you shoot. I carry an M&P 9 and compete in IDPA and Tactical matches with a Pro model...

Why did you choose the CCW you have now?

I am in East Central Florida and fish the saltwater lagoons a good bit. My M&P 9c takes the abuse and is easily concealed. The trigger has been made very good and it is very accurate.

    best stock trigger

Best trigger The Sig X-5, L-1 has the best out of the box trigger I have ever pulled. It is also a very, very accurate pistol and comes in .40.

    Which sights do you prefer?

Sights There was a discussion on another forum about that very subject and one very good shooter claimed he had never seen the XS sights in IDPA, USPSA or IPSC. I have never seen a cop with them either. I owned a pair on a Dan Wesson Patriot 10mm and did not like them. I just could not get used...

    I can't find a LCP anywhere

My favorite gun shop owner said he would buy 500 of them if he could get them.

    S&W Sigma or M&P

I think you will enjoy the M&P. It is a great gun. I'm proud of Smith & Wesson, they did a great job designing this line of pistols.

Another stellar performance by 911 operator.

Another reason not to let government run your health care.

    Shooting glasses

Do you know of a company that sells shooting glasses where the dominate eye lense has magnification and the other lense does not? My tired old eyes are having trouble focusing on the front site so I removed the left lense on an old pair of cheap reading glasses and that sure did the trick. I...

Charlton Heston’s 1989 speech to the NRA

Gives me chills. What a great speech. The assault on our guns continues of course and the liberal media and liberal politicians still have no clue, so heed the message and never, never give up your gun.

I am as upset with the government of Texas as I am with the killer.

    The Stats are in

In my view the answer is Sig hands down. I had heard about them for years, just never bought one, and then one day a guy shows me an X-Five 9mm while I was looking at High Powers. It was like taking candy from a baby. I have just added a P226 Elite. Incredible guns.

    The Pitfalls of Open Carry

Open carry I don't like open carry for many reasons. We don't tell folks we are carrying when it's concealed so why advertise the same thing with open carry? It lets the bad guys know you have a gun and gives them the advantage of changing tactics. If someone wants to steal a gun there it is. I...

Would you date an anti-gun liberal?

Marry that woman and your life would turn into a living hell.

    Defense Caliber choice: 9mm +P, 9mm +P+, or .40 cal.?

In a barrel under 4 or 5 inches I think +p is wasted. Try the 147 jhp in the 9.

    Year Of First Firearms Purchase~?

1954. Cash! Chicago. I was 16. From a gun shop just outside the city limits. I suspect one could do the same thing today.

Has a gun that you've bought new ever broke?

A Taurus 727 revolver never got through the first box of ammunition. I had to send it back to Taurus and after eight weeks I went to the dealer and demanded either my money back or a different gun. I got a different gun and will never buy another Taurus.

    Last Night in my Town.....

Only eleven shots fired? That is a relatively low number and in most gun incidents most shots miss. When people talk about over penetration they forget about all the shots that don't hit the target.

    A "turning 21" handgun?

21 I would certainly go with all metal and it would be 9mm or above. If you can shoot and plan to practice then a .45 acp will be great. Somewhere down the line you will own a SIG (took me 69 years) and then look out!

    Kimber SIS customRL

SIS It is a great gun. I have a 4". Shoots great! I can't hit anything with it but that's my fault.

They're opening a Gander Mountain near me. Good, bad?

You have to watch them closely. They will raise an items price to way over retail if they think they can get away with it. I have found them doing this with Karma and Kistler rods along with Optima batteries. The store in Lake Mary, Florida is laying off staff already.
