Well, who knew: "...gun accidentally shatters toilet."

"a preliminary investigation by school district police found the shooting appeared to be accidental and not the result of negligence" I really don't think this helps. The gun fired when it wasn't supposed to, how did that happen? I think that's a question which deserves to be investigated...

Traditional political alignments WRT the right to own firearms make no sense.

I hear ya. Durring the 2012 presidential campaign, both canadiates said they supported a renewed assult weapons ban. Can you imagine what might have happened if it was a repoblican president, instead of a democat president, calling for a ban? Things might have been very different if we had...

Convince me that a .380 is in the arena with a 38 spl

Don't forget the 38 special case is sized to hold black powder. It's not as "big" as it looks when compared to cases sized for smokeless powder.

    not to believe

It happens. Heck one of my LGSs was given its own TV show! There's a lot of new shooters and advertisers want to talk to them.

Telling wife how many guns you actually own

Show her this thread. You explained your perspective well. You seem like a careful analytical thinker, so I assume your wife is one too. There's a lot of good stuff here. Anyone without a firearms background, who read it with an open mind, would come away with a better a understanding of...

Iowa cops: If someone in your house has a CCP, it is grounds for a no-knock SWAT raid

Could also be that citizens have the right to record what happens in their home.

    Your CCW Class Experiences

I suppose all states are different. My class spanned two 8 hour days, first day in the classroom and the second day at the range. The class had a diverse group of between 1 and 2 dozen students. We had single mothers who had never touched a firearm, hunters who had decades of shooting...

    LCP sights (or lack thereof)

Innovative Arms found room on the slide for better sights. Not sure if a Glock sight would fit though. http://www.innovativearms.com/id18.html

Gunbroker seller FFL costs??? Opinions wanted

I've never used gun broker, but from the wording of the ad, I would have been surprised by the additional $35 too. The FFL fee is separate from shipping, and is a know fixed cost. No reason not to mention the exact cost up front.

    Jeese V on gun control

Jesse did an okay job, but he let himself get drawn into responding to Piers implied attacks. Piers asked why a nut-job should be able to buy lots of ammo, implying that nobody should be able to buy x amount of ammo. Jesse responded and seemed to sway the audience, but he did so without making...

NPR says no pro-gun person will come on the show

I listen to public radio a lot. While not immune to repeating the logical fallacies all media seem to, they get it right more than most. When the Mayor of Newtown was on Talk of the Nation, he called for a ban on "automatic and semiautomatic weapons". I've heard that a lot over the past few...

Can an AWB pass the US Senate

What about Mark Begich (D-Alaska)? Tuesday, the local paper quoted him saying "I'm going to be one of the more cautious (ones) about doing anything on new gun laws"

    Buds guns... Twice bitten

Sorry if I missed it, but it's not clear what they said they would do that they haven't. Do they promise delivery faster than you've experienced?

Ex-Marine in NYC gun case pleads to misdemeanor gets no jail time

"Jerome insists he'd checked a gun law reciprocity site on his smart phone, but a formatting error made it look like Indiana-registered guns are ok in New York, rather than the other way around." I believe him, but I wish he would just admit the mistake. I've read the site he checked was...
