Bought a pistol there last year, shipped 12 days after purchase. Bought a rifle this week, 7 days later no signs of processing. A member contacted me who used to work there and told me the deal. They get your money then you just wait while they have it drop shipped or whatever. That stinks. Guess that explains the delays. Oh well... Guess I've learned my lesson that cheaper isn't always the same.

i bought 4 guns through them in the last year they all shipped in 7-10 days just like they stated when i ordered the gun. they were also very good at returning emails i got a response the following morning every time i had a problem or a question.

I haven't even bugged them or called yet.. It's just a little annoying when people don't do what they say.

The drop-ship method has been there from th beginning - it is nothing new and as mentioned, if you are willing to be patient then the gun shows up.

PERSONALLY, my local FFL can order from a distributor and get it in two days for less than Buds - on anything I want

I've bought 3 guns from bud's so far, never had a complaint.
I'll wait 5 days extra to save $50 or more and not pay sales tax.
I'm cheap, and I'm patient. Probably more cheap than patient, really.

(I'd like to call myself "frugal", but that's like calling a crazy person "eccentric".)

maybe it is different here in the south, but local shops like mine have no problem matching bud's prices, or wallmart's prices. Any firearm, ammo or accessory. Only difference being no wait, no transfer fee & much better service

I've noticed that if it's something fairly common, and they have it in stock, then it usually ships within a couple days. I've bought from them a couple times with good luck both times. I realize that I've probably lucked out though. Their prices are worth the wait IMO, I wouldn't have had any problems waiting up to 10 business days. Past that is a bit much.

Bought a Remington R1 stainless 1911 there last month for $618 shipped. Paid late on a Monday night and my FFL had it on Thursday.

Can't beat that. I have seen two R1s locally and both have been over $725

I tried to give 4 locals a crack at it and none were within $200... Guess I am just impatient !;)

Sorry if I missed it, but it's not clear what they said they would do that they haven't. Do they promise delivery faster than you've experienced?

Here in MN you are supposed to claim these kind of interstate purchases on your personal income taxes under the sales and use tax. 2011 was the first year that MN started to actively look at enforcing this because no-one really bothered to fill it out.

Also, lots of retailers are starting to make noises to close the "sales tax loophole" to level the playing field with out of state sellers.

Finally, one of our own firearm related auction sites is sending emails and looking to actively support the implementation of a national sales tax to eliminate the "advantage" of buying online from an out of state supplier.

While the tax advantage exists today, there are forces at work that are trying very hard to close that loophole.

Don

Of course, "use" taxes are questionably Constitutional to begin with, considering they're taxing interstate commerce. Pretty sure they wouldn't past Constitutional muster since only Congress has that right. That's probably the primary reason states haven't really enforced them: there's a good chance they'd all be shot down if taken to Federal court.

I ordered a CZ 75 from Whittakers Guns early afternoon Monday, I picked it up Wednesday late afternoon.
We're both in KY but Priority Mail typically moves anywhere in the country in 2 days.

What's the saying?

You can have it:

Done Right
Cheap
Fast

Just pick any two.

I ordered a RIA Tactical from Bud's a couple of months ago. Ordered on a Tuesday, received it that Friday. I would have waited longer to save what i saved.

Totally legal and enforced on companies all the time. The loophole is with individuals not paying them voluntarily; thus several states have started to mandate that sales tax be collected, even from internet vendors in other locales

I worked procurement for a Western utility - we budgeted for, collected, and remitted the use tax on items from out of state - it was mandatory

Do they ever do mail order business, or do they not want the hassle?

My LGS advertises that they'll match or beat any price around. Last time I went in there I was contemplating buying a PX4 and asked if this policy was true. They said yes and I told them that Buds had it for $50 less. The guy looked at me like I was stupid and said there was no way he was going to meet Buds price. Apparently it was the one exception...
