    Black Powder ONLY??

An interesting topic came up on a forum I recently visited and I wanted to hear your opinions. A person said they are really considering going to black powder ONLY. The traditionalist in me salivates at someone saying that. The army buddies of mine are all "tactical lovers". What are your...

Why do some scare people away from Brass Frames?

I could not tell you how many times I have read, either on forums or on YouTube, comments where people are looking for advice on their first DARK gun and they get to read "stay away from brass and get a real gun". I hear about frame stretching, cracking, warping, "anemic loads only", etc...

Pistols all going out of stock?

Nearly every place I look the bp revolvers are out of stock (specifically the Remington). Is there something going on? Is it maybe because of the coming election?

Long term storage LOADED - WORKS!!

Hey guys! For those that are adamant on their blackpowder revolvers for home defense, you need to read this: I loaded my brass-frame remie 6 weeks ago and just now fired it. All 6 chambers fired without a hitch. I know that there are modern pistols for home defense, but I don't care. :neener:

I need holster advice for concealed carry

I am not ashamed of my 1858 Remie. I love this gun! Now, my wife refuses to allow me to open carry, even though it is constitutionally protected in Kentucky. Now, she will not mind me conceal carry. So, here comes the question that I am sure I will get some looks, snears, etc. The good old...

    Open Carry

This may or may not be appropriate here, but I wanted to at least share this with my fellow people of powder. Saturday I open carried for the very first time. What did I open carry? I carried my 1858 Remington Brass Frame.:what: Take THAT "gotta have a glock" followers!

Steel Frame Remies are now CHEAPER than Brass frame

Go to Cabela's and check out their prices for Remies. Apparently the steel frame guns are $20 CHEAPER than brass frame ones. How is that possible?

    I am addicted

I need help!!! I got my first REAL taste last week at the range with my brass frame remie. Now I want more: molds to cast my own rounds, ball mill to make my own powder and HOURS of free time to spend at the range. I am also thinking about my next remie purchase. I need serious help. :D

For those that are experimental with their brass frame remies

http://www.scorrs.org/articles/LilBruiser.htm I might (within the next few YEARS) consider doing this. This is an interesting project. What do you guys think?

I just wanted to say thanks

I wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone on this forum. I have asked some questions (rather dumb ones IMHO) and everyone has answered in a friendly way. It is nice to have a forum I can come to and learn all I can about the dark arts of Black Powder. Now to everyone who just might be reading...

How long does it take for corrosion to set in

Okay I am VERY paranoid. I spent nearly 35 minutes at the range Saturday cleaning my revolver after breaking it in. I used the solvent and scrubbed out the cylinder and the barrel and any place that did not shine. I wiped it down with gun oil and went home. Now I am paranoid, thinking that I...

    Need a holster

Hey guys! I love my new 1858 Remington New Army. Okay, I am lacking one thing for my new revolver: a holster. I am not concerned about whether it's a western holster or even a nylon holster. I just want something I can safely open carry my revolver with. The gun has an 8" barrel.
