I need a new duty gun, but which one?

The S&W 4506 is a great gun, but heavy. I carried one for a few years. My nickname for it was "the boat anchor."

    .40 S&W concealed carry?

I am going to go off the beaten path on this one. Take a peek at some Smith's. Maybe the S&W 4003...mid size, stainless, safety, reliable. Heavy though. There are quite a few used ones out there and they are relatively inexpensive ($300 range for used.)

    LEOs outa control?

I am not going to comment on the validity of the stops or tickets, but I will say that tint on the front side windows and any lower then 6 inches on the top of the windshield is illegal in Illinois. I know that it keeps people from looking in on you, keeps the car cool in the summer, looks...

I don't know what to tell you Nico. All the former Springfield owners I know have gotten rid of em cause they keep breaking. Maybe they are just sending the bad ones to Illinois. No, that can't be right. Springfield Armory is Illinois...so confusing.....

Get these weapons of mass destruction off our streets!

Boofus mentioned banning knives. I swear that I heard something on the radio about 3 Doctors in the UK wanting to ban knives with sharp points and make it mandatory that all knives have rounded, dull ends. The people who did the study went so far as to interview cooks to see if the ban on...

Which Gun is better for a new shooter?

Forget both the Springfield and Glock Well, if those are my only choices. I choose the G22. It should be noted that Springfield Armory basically stole the design from Glock. Glock even filed a lawsuit over it. They added the grip safety to make it "different." Minus the grip safety...

    civil right question

A "terry" stop is a temporary detention to investigate the activity of an individual for which there is reason to suspect past, present, or future criminal action. A terry stop can be a traffic stop on a car leaving a dope house or it can be on a man walking down the street with a long overcoat...

    civil right question

The issuance of a citation, ticket, summons (whatever they are called in your particular area) is technically an arrest. The US Supreme Court has addressed the question of if Miranda applies to traffic stops. Miranda does not. No warning is provided or needed to conduct a stop. The right...

run-in with ms-13 member on hollywood boulevard

gang members are scared easily when they are by themselves. That, my friends, is why they are in a gang. They have automatic back-up this way. The motivation for joining a gang (besides economics) is protection from others in the form of "safety in numbers."

    civil right question

Lawdog, I am guessin' we are on the same side, but just a quick point. A frisk is a pat down for unknown weapons or contraband. A stop is a detention of a person. We are talking about a disclosure of a weapon to a copper during a detention and what happens from there.

Since you aren't going to take care of my family when I get shot, then yes, I am going to take it away temporarily. This is not about how you feel. This is about real life people. Real people mean more then the 5 minutes it takes me to do whatever it is I need to do. You will get it back...
