Sorry about that. I didn't mean to equate the two. I just meant that my Chargemaster Combo is much more consistent than my Lee Perfect Powder measure was.
I am going to disagree with almost everyone here and say I LOVE my RCBS Chargemaster Combo unit for pistol rounds. I use a Lee turret press as a single stage because I would rather be accurate than fast when reloading same as when I shoot. The Chargemaster is perfect for me, by the time I get a...
I am using Rainier 147 grain HP with 4.3 of Unique. Alliant says that is good for 954 fps when using Speer GDHP bullets. I don't know for sure what I am getting for speed but in an LC9 they are almost perfect POI to POA.
I have been having what I think are incredible results with Rainier 147 grain HP bullets and 4.3 of Unique. I have actually shot what could be considered a group with them and it matched POI to POA! I'm not sure about what length I was using but they are real close to what Winchester had their...
Evidently I am what Red Forman would probably call a "dumbass" but I was for some reason under the impression that Aliant's data was minimum loads not max. I started with the 4.3 grains they show for 147 grain GDHP while using Rainier plated bullets. I guess I am a lucky dumbass as far as that...
Jeez $89 a thousand? That makes me feel better. Only thing I have overpaid for I havent actualy paid for yet. I have an order in with Sierra for 77 grain SMKs for list price. Which I thought was WAY overpriced but then again still havent seen any sign of them being shipped or billed for that matter.
I was becoming a big fan of Titegroup untill I tried Unique. I really like Unique for .45 and 9mm and for .44 mag lead loads too. Kinda hard to beat that versatility.

"Like it was said earlier, the Bench Rest guys don't weigh charges. Plus who would be buying all those $250+ electric powder charging toys?"
Guilty as charged! I have a Thumlers Tumbler, stainless steel media to clean with and a RCBS ChargeMasterCombo unit. I dont weigh anything...
44 magnum makes it all add up so much quicker. I can make the equivalent of $36 a box ammo for $15, and if I dont mind smoke I can get that down to around $8.50 or $9 for lead with Unique. Love shooting the red bullseye out of a target to where you can see daylight through the backboard.
Same...
Well I look at it this way. I went ahead and got the Thumler's Tumbler and stainless steel pins for cleaning because it seemed like the best way. When I was getting a trimmer for .223 I went ahead and got the RCBS 3 way cutter so it would deburr as it trims for the same reason. Buy once, cry once.
I am fairly new to reloading myself and I will agree with most everyone here. It is BOTH. It is overkill, its expensive, but I love mine and will never go back to my old powder measure if I can possibly avoid it. I travel as part of my job so I just let my motel points build up to where mine...
Right at 4 weeks here. Guess the holiday rush must be over. Just wanted to add after the gift cards and rebates my Charge Master Combo unit cost me around $9.95 cash money.
Dammit! I didnt even know there was a show in KC. I just hid indoors all day Sunday and ran my new Chargemaster. Probably not the worst thing if I missed one.
I guess maybe I am just a dumbass. I am fairly new to reloading and Titegroup is all I have ever loaded with for pistols. I like it, I like that it does not fill the case. That tends to make me pay that much more attention to what I am doing. I charge each case and add a bullet by hand then seat...
