    Which stock do you prefer?

I prefer an english stock for shooting our feathered friends. I like the position it puts me in, more comfortable. Or it could be that gun actually fits. az

    Got wood? for 28ga 1100

Greetings all, Been gone a while, dad diagnosed with cancer and had surgery, mom ended up in the ICU for a while, the family stuff is priority. Seems everyone is on the mend (keep my fingers crossed). I am looking for an extra set or just the buttstock for a 1100 in 28ga. Does anything...

    SxS Recommendations please

I would look for a nice English best gun. They can be had in the price range you mentioned. It can be a great shooter than will never depreciate and a fine piece of work to admire. PM me for a source I have that always has a few guns and usually has more coming (ATF forms in process). I have...

    Franchi (48) manual?

You are both correct. The 48AL will only feed from the mag if a round is fired. The first round must be hand loaded into the receiver and the bolt let go home. I thought this was unsusal at first but after having one for a few years I have become used to the routine. az

is pump action shotgun really better than semi-auto action shotgun?

1+ Neither is better, just different. I have doubles (O/U & SxS), singles, pumps and semi auto's. I like them all, they just require a different technique and I use them for different shooting. az

    Stoeger 2000 or Franchi I-12?

You must have had a bad one. I have a Franchi 48 AL and it rocks. I also had a shot at a O/U that was exceptional but more coin than I had at the time. I guess everyone lets one through once and a while. I would not hesitate to buy another. az

    OK - How 'Bout Fran-key or Fren-chy

So back to the topic, what is the consensus on Franchi? az P. S. - I have one and have always pronounced it Frankie.

    Weight of pull

Go buy a cheap fishing scale and make sure it is somewhat accurate at the supermarket with known weights (chicken, butter, etc.). Hook it on your trigger via string loop, coat hanger, whatever. Pull and watch the scale. See where it goes click at least three times in a row then average. This...

what's gonna happen if 2-3/4" shell use in 3" shotgun

I don't believe that is a true statement. I believe it is the law of supply and demand. Once upon a time there was only 2 3/4" chamber length. There are more 2 3/4's than anything else. I also bet the same holds true for price increase in 3 and 3 1/2" shells. I would bet if you took a poll...

    Charles Daly auto????

Although I have not handled one the description sounds like my Franchi 48 AL. It has the bolt release on the left side. It May be the same but if so finding aftermarket stuff will be all but impossible. There are quite a few 48 AL's out there but no aftermarket stuff that I know of. Next...

Never quite understood the chambering on a double barrel

There are 2 1/2 shells available if you know where to look. You can get hulls from Graf's without problem. The 2 1/2 Cheddites are less than the 2 3/4's. http://www.grafs.com/shotshell/415 Nothing like a fine English gun chambered in 2 1/2". Shoots like a 20ga but patterns better. At...

    1300 at Wally World

The wallyworld guns are old stock not imports. Mr. Wally probably bought a thousand or more at a time. I picked one up last Sunday; probably the last of the "new" 1300's you will see. Mine was priced at $243 and was a smokin' deal as far as I am concerned. The last of a breed. I am glad I...

    Remington 1100 questions...

$91 is just stupid cheap for an 1100. I would buy that in a heartbeat if it even looked like all the parts were there. You have shot the gun and know it functions, what more do you need? az

    Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U Update

I have a couple of O/U's and a SxS and I have never assembled any of them without pushing the lever to the right. My guns just don't like not doing that and I found resistance when trying the first time with my first O/U so I just don't. I am not sure if I would damage anything but I never...

    Iraq vets, your expertise, please...

T B L is right. It is much easier to treat a traumatic amputation than a burn. The amputation is a localized wound and the stump will usually seal off the bleeding in over 50% of the cases with a little help if you don't run out of blood first. No skin due to a burn injury is rough because...
