Greetings all,

Been gone a while, dad diagnosed with cancer and had surgery, mom ended up in the ICU for a while, the family stuff is priority. Seems everyone is on the mend (keep my fingers crossed).

I am looking for an extra set or just the buttstock for a 1100 in 28ga. Does anything else fit like 20ga? I see lots of wood for 12ga but that seems about all I find. I want a buttstock to cut down for my son to shoot the 28ga. It is a 1100 sporting and the wood is really nice so I don't want to cut a stock for something he will grow out of within the next few years. He is afraid of recoil although I don't know why as he has never felt ant real recoil. He has seen me shoot some rather large bore, heavy recoiling rifles. Anyway, looking for a source of wood.

Thanks,

az

I don't know about the sporting model, but a stock sold last week on e-bay and the description said 20 Lt. or 28:

"Excellent condition model 1100 stock..walnut...no scratches, dings, or dents...with pad and spacer..fits 20 Lt or 28 gauge...marked "28" on reciever end..." - It went for $75.

Both Wenig's and Boyd"s carry stuff for the small frame 1100s,AZ. Best bet may be E bay, though.

And your family's now in my prayers...

First, sorry to hear that your folks are experiencing bad health. I hope they have a speedy recovery.

For the 28 ga. wood. . . .
Keep your eye out for the Remington semi-auto rifle and pump gun wood.
(760, 7600, 742, 7400 etc., etc.) They are the same as the LW frame Remington scatterguns.

I picked up a 'beater' stock at a gunshow for $10 not too long ago, to cut down for my son's 20 ga. 870.
Fits perfectly!!!

Thanks for reading.
