A word to the wise on the CZ P10 and reviews

Don't trust the reviews at all and buy IN PERSON. The problem with that like other CZ guns in general is that they are not often carried in decent inventory for you to try the model you want at the shop even if they stock them. If you DO find one with a good trigger, buy it. It may be the...

Canik TP9 SFX 5" used - could it have the dreaded spring problem?

There is a very nice looking SFX locally, and the price is great, but I WONDER if it is one of those early oversprung versions which are jamomatics? Any way to tell until its too late, and is there an easy fix? I ask because "The Humble Marksman" made it seem in his video that its not a simple...

    RWS 89 - OK?

So, a LGS has a very clean looking RWS 89 with an RWS Supreme scope. (Looks nice, but have no idea if these were good). Looks like a package and I guess that it is an older model of the Howa 1500 which has been sold in several configurations and several companies. I know the action is very good...

    Cerakoting the frame?

Considering having a pro cerakote my P99 frame from black to OD green. (They don't make them like this anymore, and I like the look). How is wear? Any experiences out there? I've seen posts of "hey this is what its like after 2 mos". Would rather see them after 2 years. Thanks.

    PX 4 Compact questions

Have an SP 2022, and a P99, and as you can see am trending DA/SA these days. I am mulling over a PX4 compact because it gives me the size, or smaller of the G19 and seems to have a decent trigger. I know these guns are NOT as popular as some, but they seem decent to me, and the DA has NO...

    Canik TP 9 V2

have some comments questions about the topic gun. I like the form - 4 inch barrel (shorter than SA) and the grip is decently textured. Sights are complex. The trigger seems a bit rougher than the average P99 (my P99 was rough), but I THINK I like the general action better. The action does not...

    SIG P226 mainspring questions

I just got a 'new'/used Redbox CPO. Finish is almost like new. The SA trigger is like finely tuned 1911 - great. But, I notice that all new P226s have smoother/lighter DA triggers. Mine is decent, but not like a new one. I know that the mainspring strut on the new guns is quite different...

    Couple of SIG questions

Just picked up my first SIG, a like new red box 226. Like new as in the finish. The barrel has had rounds through it from the outside marks. I'm amazed at the absolute match between the slide and frame- what is it? Normally alloy guns just don't match. I really like the old dash dot...

    Dry Firing the P226

Just got a red box 226. Little did I know that dry firing is not highly recommended without a snap cap. They, like OTHER hammer fired wpns eat up Azooms PDQ, and unlike my CZ, I cannot just use an o-ring. Anyone use something like an old piece of inner tube to tame the hammer and save the...

S&W M&P: Getting the grit out

Rather than knocking off the sights (mine are tritium) and getting to the plunger for a polish job, has anyone tried simply leaking some flitz into the plunger cavity then pulling the trigger hundreds of times to polish the plunger/cavity, then thoroughly flushing the cavity out? Thanks.

    Buyer Beware -Quantico Tactical.

Bought an M&P 45 on Friday from Quantico Tactical. It is what I would call a 'tactical store' which sells firearms, and NOT a gunstore per se. I would say first that it is 'store policy' not to be able to field strip a firearm in the store. Some would say that 'it serves you right' to get...

    SIG: German or US?

Is it better to buy a US or German SIG and why? Thanks.

The LCR (357) - the "final solution"?

I got rid of my only revolver years ago, but inherited Dad's old Model 10. Shooting it the other day made me miss the revolver. Pleasant, accurate, etc. While I own a PM9, and it has been VERY reliable and completely a breeze to carry, AND packs 6+1, and is more powerful than a .38, I can...

    Rem UMC 38 +P HPs

I shot some of these the other day in my old Model 10. They did feel a bit hotter, but does anyone know the real data on these? 125gr JHPs - UMC

Israeli Bul Poly-framed Charles Daly 1911?

The other week, I handled one of these in a LGS. It SEEMED VERY nice - light as my XD and soooo ergonomic, and the trigger was not bad. How do they shoot? Thanks.

    Alumahyde vs. others...

I want to PAINT some magazines. I don't want to take the time and effort to use Gunkote or Duracoat, so I was thinking of either Alumahyde, or just going to the Walmart and getting Krylon or some other cheap metal paint. Thoughts? (The mags are alloy [VZ58]).

    How are those NEW WASRs???

I know that because of the "barrel ban", WASRs now get new chrome lined Romanian barrels installed here in the US. How is QC? Can anyone compare to 'older' WASRs which came over the pond WITH the barrel?

    Yugo M70 BARREL longevity (AK)

    FEG AMD 65 TGI questions

I am considering one. For those who are familiar with this AK: - I've heard that some have loose mag wells - true on yours? Does it affect function. My SAR-1 and SA 85 are drum tight, and I like that... - I've heard some have muzzle brakes that come lose - is this still a problen with...
