Current Cost of Hand Loading (Circa 2013/06)

Actually, digging deeper, I see that if I buy larger primer bricks (5K) off gunbroker (or if I select Tula primers), then the cost begins to approach the costs you guys experience.

Current Cost of Hand Loading (Circa 2013/06)

Thank you all for your input. One interesting thing I noticed is that you guys are seeing much cheaper price tags for primers, so your advice would be appreciated. When I go check on gunbroker (as of today, for example) a 1k brick of small pistol primers go between 50 to 80 (not counting S&H)...

Current Cost of Hand Loading (Circa 2013/06)

Hello all - I was wondering what's the collection of opinions regarding the current cost of hand loading. I'm sure it's been discussed in the past, but I wanted to query your current opinions (and suggestions maybe?) I bought a hand loading book and read it from A to Z, and I was already set...

    Stinky Stocks

yep to baking soda (or naphta balls.) Ditto on this. I've removed smoke stench out things like clothes and small wooden items this way. If the stock had been reeking of smoke stench for quite a while, however, the OP might want to use baking soda first for a few days, then give a good hand...

Capabilities of a .45-70 Rebarreled Mosin (or Siamese Mauser)

Indeed. Fortunately it won't be a grant, but it won't be cheap :) Just out of curiosity, how does the Henry or the H&R Handi rifles fair up when handling modern loads on the 45-70? Cool. Not to derail the original topic of this thread, I've been considering some of the online gunsmith...

Capabilities of a .45-70 Rebarreled Mosin (or Siamese Mauser)

Jim, yes, Mr. Green's gunsmith shop is the one I was considering. I'm already contacting him in that regard. Since I just purchased some new toys and ammo (and I'm about to set myself up for reloading), I'll have to wait for a few months before I go ahead with the order (otherwise my wife will...

Capabilities of a .45-70 Rebarreled Mosin (or Siamese Mauser)

Reloadron/Jim, yep that was a typo. Thanks for catching it up. I mean to say ".45-70". I've fixed my original post to reflect that. Thanks!

Capabilities of a .45-70 Rebarreled Mosin (or Siamese Mauser)

=== edit === By mistake I repeatedly wrote ".40-70" when I meant to say ".45-70". I corrected my post to reflect that. ========== Hello, Mods, please let me know if I created this thread in the right forum. I was wondering if there was a a strong and modern .45-70 rifle, not single shot...

Illinois passes veto proof CC bill.

Ever been hungry? No offense, but that is impractical rhetoric. It feels good to say it, to feel it. It won't get you what you want (your right to reasonable CCW laws.) Compromise entails patience and diligence. If patience and diligence weren't political virtues, the Civil Rights Movement...

A term to replace "Assault Weapon" : "Modern Rifle"

To educate people, at least those who are honestly missinformed and don't use the term "assault rifle" with a hidden agenta. But that is the thing, a significant number of people are just honestly missinformed. And what options do they have to formulate their opinions. On the one hand...

I like this I like this description, which if we think about it, it conveys the truth.

Opinion on EAA SAR 20ga Pump Action for HD and shooting slugs

Hmmmm, in these two factors into consideration, I guess the SAR is a no-go option for what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Opinion on EAA SAR 20ga Pump Action for HD and shooting slugs

Hi all - I'm considering getting a 20ga pump action platform, primarily for HD and possibly for shooting foster/brenneke when/if I finally go deer/gator sometime this year. One possibility is the EAA SAR 20ga pump action shotgun, model SARPA20203, sku 160410 (see this eacorp product page.)...

Info on Astra Cadix 38SPL 2" Snubbie

Hi all - I did a search which yield some info on this particular gun, but not precisely what I was looking for.
