ok, so maybe I'm naive but
i got a "good deal" on 2K x 5.56 IMI brass with crimped primers
take 1: install lee universal decapping die, watch pin move right up the collet, primer she no move
torque that collet down h-a-r-d
take2: snap decap pin, primer she still no move
I've only decapped a...
I either got a great deal or an ok deal. For $10 I got the metal part that screws into the charging die, 3 powder hoppers, 3 large & 3 small drums and a bag full of parts. Looking at http://leeprecision.com/cgi-data/instruct/90811.pdf I'm sure I've got enough parts to assemble a whole working...
I'm looking to develop an LR-308 load in .308 using varget and hornady 150 gr fmjbt #3037
lyman 49 references #3031 and suggests a load range of 42.5 - 47.0(compressed)
hornady 9th ed says #3031
is the interlock sp bullet
uses the same load as #3037
but hornady 9th ed suggests a load range...
Never met the man but I sure enjoy my 650.
Condolences to his family and anybody who knew him personally

They had signs up last night "blah blah unprecedented demand blah blah limited supplies of reloading components blah blah blah" but they had small pistol and small rifle primers in stock which have been absent for 6 weeks(or gone before I got there, I know from employees that shipments had come...
I shot 6 rounds of a box I bought at the range to calibrate how well my handloads worked .vs. factory stuff and had four blown primers out of 6 shots. Is that wierd or what? I've probably shot about 100 rounds of winchester out of the same gun and never a blown primer. The ammo seemed to group well.
I was looking at buying a pawn shop r700 and asked it i could run a patch through it. he said sure. it came out with reddish residue on it.
It sure looked like iron oxide but a r700 can't be more than 50ish years old so way past the corrosive powder era. The gun didn't look mistreated and...
The second 2 I may be able to do something about. When I look at the array of triggers even just one vendor(geissele) offers my head starts to spin. Intended use is paper punching mostly from a bench in an LR-308 in 6.5 creedmoor. I wish there was some way to try some of these triggers before...
So I was really happy with the caldwell brass catcher on my AR10 because I didn't have to chase brass and worry about bubba or cletus stepping on my berry, berry 'spensive Norma brass.
The happiness started to fade yesterday as I saw 1 out of every 5 or six or so coming out a hole that had...
This is the one with the windage on the rear sight unlike a typical AK. There's a 3/64 set screw that seems to be there to hold the adjustment in place. It works pretty good since I snapped my allen wrench on it. Other than try soaking in a little penetration oil, any suggestions?
I did a test series with nosler custom competion 140 grain match bullets from 37 - 41 grains per nosler's website and the gun ate all of them like a champ.
Next weekend I'll try a similar series with the ELD match.
Does anyone know where to find official hornady data? My book doesn't have...
The pin actually got sucked out of the die and I had to tighten the die to get the case free of the pin. I lubed the case inside and out. Seems weird to me at might gall the brass. Has anybody seen stuff like this? What to do about it?
I ran some brand new hornady brass through the die and...
Hodgdon (http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle) lists 36 to 40 grains of H4350 and that the 40 is compressed. Is there a way to calculate where the loads start to be compressed? Not that that's a bad thing - just asking.
- Rifle is an Aero Precision 6.5creedmoor, 24" bbl, rifle length gas system and rifle buffer
- ammo rifle likes: Winchester 6.5C 140 gr hpbt match
- ammo rifle hates: Hornady 6.5C 140 gr ELD match
I had about 25 failures to eject in 20 rounds. Ok, I exaggerated a bit there but the true...
on an aero precision 6.5Creedmoor, how much difference will a $250 trigger make over the milspec trigger it comes with? I'm sucker for gadgets but would I be better served to master the milspec trigger? Target shooting is the only application at this time. Eventually I want to take it out to...
