Top 10 guns sold BY BUD'S in 2012, really?

I doubt those numbers. I thought more 22's were sold than anything every year.

    Gun Sales Skyrocketing?

I don't know what is causing it but something has stimulated the market. Ammo here in the Northwest is dwindling and the demand for firearms is definitely up.

advice on AK 47 or ar 15

Neither the AK nor the AR would be a bad choice. Get what you want but buy quality. That means an Arsenal for the AK and Colt for the AR.

G19 or G26 for Concealed Carry

I think the answer to the selection of the 26 or the 19 has more to do with the size of the person carrying it. Obviously, the taller the person the easier it would be to carry (concealed) the 19. I have both and am 5'10" and have no problem carrying either in a Milt Sparks IWB. I agree that...

    Training DVDs - Worth it?

Training tapes are good for a variety of reasons. They show technique and a decent definition of acceptable performance. . . . . something you can use as a goal. While no replacement for professional training these adjuncts are much better than nothing.

    Lubricating My AR

CLP does dry/evaporate relatively quickly. For me I need to relube about every three weeks. That is here in the Pacific NW. CLP is fine for me.

    Fitness a factor?

Why is this a discussion? The answer is apparent. I think that people who believe you don't have to be fit usually are not and are trying to justify that fact. Healthy, fit people will naturally have more endurance, better health and higher energy levels . . . in general terms. This is not...

    Weird question!

If you are limited to non-expanding bullets, I would suggest the 0.45 and shoot hardball. It worked fine for the Army and it is the most reliable feeding ammo for the .45. What's not to like?

What are your favorite books on war and/or weapon related subject matter?

There are some exceptional books recommended on this thread. I will not repeat any of those titles. Stillwell and the American Experience in China 1911-1945 Barbara Tuchman. Excellent history of Joe Stillwell and his role in the China-Burma Theater and his career. [/I]

    lokking at a makarov

If your intent is concealed carry then you should just purchase any Makarov and put East German grips on it. That will give you the most slab sided profile and most comfortable configuration possible

    New home defense rifle needed.

Let me see if I have this correct. You were thinking you could shoot through a car body, make a precision shot with people moving around inside the car body fighting?

    "Mil Spec AR Only!"

For me, Mil-Spec means minimum manufacturing standards. Commonality of parts is important to me because I replace things, swap things and add things. Without the Mil-Spec standard nothing would fit. For Example, with the new Gas Pistons. Many manufacturers but no standards. When a military...

    WWII Grease gun

In 1963-64, in Vietnam, we were picking up quite a few weapons the Army issued in Korea during that war. The M3 was one I picked up. Anyone that could hit anything with it at 100 yards was doing better than I could. The best battlefield pickup I saw was a WWII MP38 Schmeisser. As I recollect...

    In Vietnam Ak or M16

We were issued new AR-15's in Oct or Nov 1964 at Bien Hoa. Mine was kept clean and did it's share of field duty and never malfunctioned once. The M2 Carbine it replaced did, however, malfunction but that was associated with the 30 round mags.

Black Rifles for idiots (like me)

Lots of opinions; here's mine. Determine your need and purpose first. If you are going to shoot less than 100 rounds a month then consider the Stag in your favorite configuration. If you are serious about shooting look to the top tier AR platforms.

Pocket Carrying a Glock 26 or Springfield XD-Subcompact???

I am 5'9" and weigh 180lbs. I have no problems at all carrying a G26 in a KyTac pocket holster. Khaki's are fine as are cargo shorts.
