    Shotshell hulls

You lucky dog you....lol Down here, I don't see too many Remington STS hulls, most folks are loading the hell out of the Win AA for target (clays). The other hull I see the most of is the Federal Top Gun straight hulls. Yeah, I see the Cheddite and maybe Rio sometimes...but I believe folks are...

    30 CARBINE LOAD???

I am running 14 grains of H110 under the 110 Grain Hornady FMJ. I have already tried AA#9 at 11.7 grains under the same round and it was underwhelming (to say the least).

    HS 6

    I push 147 grain G2 with HS-6 @ 3.20 grains with no problems. I also use the HS-6 in 1oz 12 Gauge slug (40.0 grains - 11,000 psi) ..so there is that. For 125 grain .38 I use True Blue (5.30 grains) or 231 (4.50 grains)

    12 ga slug blooper problems

I agree with the mismatched components. A straight hull and a tapered wad will not get you where you want to be. While many have poo-poo'd the Lee load all, I have had great success with it and 1oz slugs in a Federal hull using the Ballistic Products helix wad. I use the Ballistic Products X10X...

Servicio Aventuras vs. CCI Primers Updated Nov.3

In a random run of primers on Ammoseek, it appears the majority of the .05 cent primers are the Servicios, and they don't seem to be moving well. I suggest the folks here and other posts I've seen on the 'web are a big contributor to that. I had 'inherited' a sleeve of the SP a while back and...

    Reloading component availability

Intense...yes. But I spent a great deal of time and effort sourcing components and now I can order them online with little or no fuss. I'm not going to spend my time running to three stores on Sunday to find 1 sleeve of primers...I'm going to order the brick online (especially since gas it...

Best & low cost way to convert pure Lead to alloy = BHN 10 ?

To the original poster: If y'all have yard or estate sales up there, it's a great place to find tin plates and serving implements. Most folks turn their noses up at that stuff. E-bay is also a place where folks are looking to dumpo old tin plates for cheap.

Can you tell me what this is?

It is the Streak "tracer" round. They have been offered at American Reloading for some time in bulk. The link below is for the .45 cal FMJ (and they are out-of-stock, before someone chimes in) Streak Ammo

Dad. And I miss the hell outa him not standing there looking over my shoulder and telling me I "was doin' it wrong".

    Sort 9mm by headstamp?

I sort out the Speer, which get True Blue and a 147 Grain G2 projectile. All the rest go into range rounds (except for Winchester - those get scrapped straight out). The Speer is generally consistent in weight from case to case, the FC is the most inconsistent. Some of the foreign cases are so...

    .30 Cal Universal carbine

Well yeah, they've changed the price/availability since last time I was there. Initially (in February '23) it was $370.00 +- for two ammo cans with 800 rounds of ball in bandoleers. Either they have sold out of that already, or that are holding those back now in the hopes of getting more money...

    .30 Cal Universal carbine

I had been watching the CMP posts on the (literally) pallets of surplus Korean .30 caliber they received. Based on the pictures it appears to be early 1980's manufacture, but as @Nightloard40K says - who knows how it was stored over the years. Of course, CMP still has the totally ridiculous...

    Melting polymer coated bullets?

Huh. They had 11K of them at 2000 hours last night, and as of 1800 today they were sold out. I guess someone else must of thought the same thing I did.

Where are Reloading Components Available/On Sale (Not a Discussion Thread, Link Required)

American Reloading has CCI #500 SPP for $369.99 per 5K. Price INCLUDES hazmat and shipping. So, this is 73.99 per 1K - flat. https://americanreloading.com/primers/4311-cci-small-pistol-no-500-primers-free-shipping-hazmat-5000ct.html

    Melting polymer coated bullets?

American Reloading has a lot of heavily damaged 9mm polymer coated bullets. Evidently the pulling machinery was not adjusted correctly that day, but I digress. Buying them in a lot of 4000 projectiles (with the discount) results in lead which would cost ~ 1.64/lb, which is a good price for my...

    Time to start loading 7.62x39

1680 is my choice with 123 FMJ. Messed around with CFE BLK for my SST Hornady rounds for a bit, then went right back to 1680.
