    Ohio folks...

Sportsman's Den 201 N Gamble St, Shelby, OH 44875 (866) 856-0771 It's about 30 min West of FFF in Ashland. It's worth the trip to check them out. Not as big as FFF, but close. I usually stop at the Fin and price check, then on to Shelby to check the price at the Den. Reloading components...

    Ohio folks...

Whenever I go to FFF, I always make it a point to go on to Shelby. I have found the Sportsman Den to have better prices on handguns, and reloading supplies. My last trip I stopped at FFF and picked up 6K primers (my daughter got 3 and I got 3) for $39.99 per thousand, then on to TSD. I couldn't...

Proper storage of primers, how serious is it?

I have close to 30K primers of all sizes and manufacturers. Some are from the early 70's. I do nothing special to store them. They sit on a shelf in 1K factory boxes on top of my reloading bench. I have recently reloaded 1K .223 using 40 year old Remington match small rifle primers. A recent...

    Sp10

I had an SP-10 for over 5 years and harvested turkey every year. It was a real PITA to carry through the woods. I finally sold it and opted for a Benelli Super Black Eagle chambered in 3 1/2". So much lighter and really put the hurt on those long beards.

    tumbler suggestion

I use one of these from Harbor Freight. Holds 18 pounds of brass and costs $150. If your looking for something smaller, they sell a smaller model that holds 5 pounds of brass for $55.00. I have both units and they are 3 years old and still work great.

Colt vs Kimber 3 inch Question

I would love to know if the folks making comments regarding the reliability of 3” 1911’s have ever even owned one… I have owned 4 and never a problem with any of them. I also know several folks that also own 3” 1911’s. None have had reliability issues with their guns…NONE! I carry a 3”...

    White-Hots or Balckhorn 209

I would suggest BH209, that's what I use in my TC omega. I switched from 777 a few years ago and will never go back. I have shot over 25 consecutive shots at the range without cleaning the barrel and the accuracy is great. The only issue with BH209 is you must clean the fouling out of your...

    Switching from a 209

I switched over to a .25 ACP breech plug in my TC Omega a couple of years ago after experiencing several “fliers” during shooting sessions. You know that one shot that goes 2” low and 3” right for no reason. I was told that switching to the .25 ACP would solve this problem. It was the best...

using a 25 apc breach plug and a TC Encor.

I switched to .25 ACP pistol casings with small pistol primers about 2 years ago. It was a good move at the time and eliminated the fliers I had been experiencing. I was using 110 grains of 777 loose powder 250 gr Hornady SST sabots and held 1” groups out to 100 yards without any problems...

    Better Do It Now…

If you don’t have a “scary black rifle” and you want one, you had better get one before President Elect Obama begins dismantling our 2nd Amendment Rights. If you don’t have any 30 round magazines, you better get them while you can. If you have any guns in you collection that you want to...

An unconventional AR15 carbine, Need Scope,Trijicon?

Nice lookin AR!! I have a Trijicon TR21R 1.25X4 with red triangle post on mine and it’s a great scope. Works especially well in low light situations as the red triangle lights up well with little or no light. However, the 1.25X4 makes shots beyond 100 yards tough. So I guess it depends on what...

Ohio Law Enforcement Harasses Man for OC Carry

Here is a thread on OFCC (Ohio For Concealed Carry) about a guy in Northwood, Ohio being harassed by the local LE for outside carrying his gun while at an ice cream stand with his daughter. LE threatened him and broke his DL in half before giving it back. Are we living in Nazi Germany...

    Citori trigger won't pull

It could have been the barrel selector switch (on the safety) was in the middle and not left or right. I had that happen to me and discovered that the selector was halfway between U/O, once it was moved one way or the other it worked fine.

    Taste of goose?

Here in Ohio we have lots and lots of geese. We have so many that the DNR has a special season (early fall) in an attempt to reduce the numbers. It was not always that way here in Ohio. I remember as a young lad (about 16) jump shooting geese off the Cuyahoga River. It was a great day just to...

    10ga. - Rem SP-10 and Browning Gold

Agree with redneck2 SP- 10 is a great gun, very reliable, but way to heavy to tote around. I sold mine and opted for a 12 ga. 3 ½” model.
