I agree with dfariswheel. Real important to use pad in one direction only. Many independent local gunsmiths in my area charge about $40.00 for bead blasting a firearm.

It doesn't sound like you are looking for the bench rest route. I used to use empty Lawrence brand lead shot bags for sand bags. If they are not filled full they can be squished into shapes that will fit any rifle stock type. I shot many incredible groups with that set up.
