Your pick for 9mm.....$1000 or less

No guns currently owned. Home defense, no concern for concealability. I'm just real comfortable with 9mm and shoot much more accurately vs some other larger calibers I've had

Your pick for 9mm.....$1000 or less

Your top pick for a 9mm, with a high price ceiling of $1000. What would it be?

    SIG 229 or CZ-75B

Thanks for the advice. Don't think I love the Sig so much that I'm willing to spend $200 to convert. Is the 75B user friendly in the area of stripping and cleaning? I love the Sig in that regard.

    SIG 229 or CZ-75B

I have a like new 229 DAK that I got for a good price. Nice gun, not sure I'm crazy about the DAO. It's fairly light, but I know I could be a better shot with DA/SA. Plus I see Bud's has the 75B for $377. tack on $25 to ship and $20 to FFl = 422. Not too shabby 75B is DA first shot and SA...

So, you say we need a revolution?

I'm very grateful to live in this country because I have seen what it is like not to. Count your blessings and move on with it.

    Shipping handgun

From unlicensed individual to dealer. The only place that I know of that will do this is Fedex. Do you normally take a copy of the FFL license to the shipper? It doesn't say on their website that they require a copy of the license. I figure if you have the printout from the ATF site...

How much more powerful is the .40 over the 9mm?

I don't think it really matters to be honest with you. I prefer 9mm. Less recoil, faster followup shots, cheaper ammo. I suppose if you're wanting a hunting sidearm and you could potentially run into a bear, then you don't want either of those two calibers. Otherwise, shoot whichever you feel...

    SIG recommendation

Found a 229R DAK in 9mm, basically brand new. Less than 100 rounds through it and 100% condition. It will be shipped to me for $550. I thought this to be a very fair deal.

    Please help me identify pistol.

What a porker. I'm surprise he can get his finger between the trigger and guard.

    Beretta compact 9mm?

Does Beretta manufacture anything comparable to a Glock 26? I have narrowed my next gun selection down to a G26...however, the one Beretta I have shot in my life (full size 9mm, not sure which model) was so smooth and enjoyable to shoot that I want to at least consider looking at what they have...

    Guns registration/tracing

Thanks for the answers. So if you sell a gun to a private party without going through an FFL..what do you normally do to cover yourself? Just fill out a bill of sale?

    Guns registration/tracing

I just want to make sure of this. Someone recently was telling me that whenever you purchase a new handgun from say a gun shop, when they go through their procedure of transferring the gun to you, that the serial number on that gun is actually registered to your name and sent to the...

    Concealing CCWs

I don't see any problem being able to conceal a K40 IWB at 6" by 4.5" by <1" No need to wear anything excessively baggy.

    Glock of Berreta

For him, obviously so. No point in really arguing with him, he likes what he likes. However, there is a very good reason that Glock has sold a bazillion guns over the years.

    CZ 2075 Rami

Thanks for the replies. I have owned a G17 in the past and thought highly of it. However, I can see where some think that Glocks don't point naturally. I like the idea of single action and a manual safety. Now on the CZ Rami...I don't know much about this gun, but I read it can be fired in...
