Giving a shout out to the "Ultimate Bed Holster"

+1 on the Safepacker. I have a coyote-colored one for my M&P and I just carry it around with me all the time.

Moving across the country - what to do with handguns?

This summer I will be moving across the country, from Oregon to Florida. I will be driving and living in a travel trailer as I move. Is it necessary to examine the gun laws for each state I will be driving through? What questions should I be asking myself as I prepare for the trip? I don't...

    Kel-Tec .380 good or Bad?

I was a "hater" until last weekend, when I bought a P3AT. I went to the store to buy an Airweight J-frame, and walked out with the Kel-Tec. I'm very happy with my decision. Here's why: I can now carry 100% of the time. That, to me, is a massive selling point. I've heard lots of...

What Advantages Does a 9mm Revolver Have Compared to a .38?

The best explanation I've heard for the existence of a 9mm revolver is that its an excellent back up gun to a LEO who carries a 9mm pistol.

    IWB suggestion for Kel-Tec P3AT

Oh Jeez...I just realized there's a recent 27 response thread about this...sorry for wasting time. But, just in case you didn't reply to that, input still helpful.

    IWB suggestion for Kel-Tec P3AT

Well, I went to the shop today with every intention of getting an Airweight J-frame for a carry piece. But I walked out with a P3AT, and after firing it at the range, I'm pleased with my decision... Anyway, I know its a pocket gun, but I wear pretty tight pants. IWB is better. Right now...

What to get for a first gun?

I just bought my first gun about a year ago. I went with a revolver, but knowing what I know now, I would have bought a 9mm semi-auto. To me, its a great all-around gun for range (cheap ammo) and home-defense. I like the Smith M&P best, but there are a lot of options... To echo what...

    What do you carry

Crap! How long does it take for this Wilderness Tactical Instructors Belt to come in?

I ordered one on 12/12 and it shipped on 12/17, arrived 12/20... They gave me a tracking number when it shipped. If you email them, I'm sure they'll help you out. I've always had good customer service from them...

    CCW methods for backpacking

I also hike with a Safepacker. Its far more than a nylon bag - it holds your gun and reload perfectly, has a much faster draw, and is very well made in the USA. I also have the Wilderness belt and one of their Safari bags - great stuff.

Would it be accurate to say

The 642 in all-steel is the 640. And it is far more comfortable (for me) to shoot.

A CCW thread for the skinny guys

6', 160. No body fat around the middle. I refuse to buy pleated or oversize pants - they're tight enough that pocket carry is uncomfortable for me. I carry a J-frame IWB at about 3:30. Liger Gun Belt for dress up, most days its a Wilderness 3-stitch. I was using a homemade IWB holster...

If you could keep only one revolver...

My initial response was, "well obviously the 686"... BUT, I prefer to carry a revolver, and my 640-1 is with me all the time. I can always keep the .45 around the house. So I'll go with the steel J-frame 640-1, .357 magnum.

    Questions about CCWing a Revolver

    1) Yes, absolutely. I CCW an all steel J-frame IWB every day. Even with shorts and a t-shirt it doesn't print. I recommend the Pachmayr Compac-Pro grips. 2) A 4" is too long for CCW if you plan to sit down, I think. I have a 2.5" L frame that works well for OWB, but its too thick for me...

    Rant: NRA Spam!

I just joined the NRA. I was holding off on this because I just knew what the result would be - but the potential discounts finally made me cave in... And I was right: my email inbox and home mailbox are FLOODED with absolute CRAP from the NRA. Book offers, insurance, "calls-to-action"...
