Revolver Crazed

Wheelgun vs age group. Is age a factor to the Revolver crazed?

I'm 53, although I have auto loaders, I just fancy the wheelgun.

I'm 63, and I'm split about 50/50 with my present accumulation of guns.
But I always have been.

My first two handguns when I was 14 - 15 years old were a 1917 S&W and a 1911-A1 Colt. Then a Ruger Standard .22 auto, and a Blackhawk .357 Flat-top. It's pretty much continued that way for the last 50 years.

First one or two of this, then one or two of that!
It really makes no difference to me, as long as they are quality guns, and serve the intended purpose at the time.

My first gun was an S&W 625. I was 16 when my dad helped me acquire it and I had the money for it. I enjoy them very much.

4 revolvers / 3 pistols. But my favourite handgun is a pistol. And I can't vote because I'm 18 ;) (18 is the legal age for any gun here)

I'm 23 and primarily a wheel-gun man. I have been for a while as well. When i first took an interest in guns (when I was about 18 or so), i thought I liked semi-autos more. but as soon as my taste developed, i realized I was a fan of the revolving cylinder.
Right now my back-up HD gun is a revolver (back-up to the shotty), and my CCW is also a revolver. I do have one semi (Sig P232)that I think is a dandy gun, but i don't like to carry it much. It was a gift to me from my father when I first got my CWP. I love the feel of the gun but I don't trust the .380acp, and there are similarly sized guns in full power 9mm and .40cal that I would have gotten instead. If it were not a gift from dad, i'd sell the damn thing and spend the money on a gun that is more appropriate in the size/power ratio. But alas, i know that as a gift from dad, i would regret it terribly if I ever sold the gun. And it is a GREAT shooter, so I'll hang onto it.

I'm mainly an auto guy

But I do go nuts for a nice wheel gun. They are beautiful and very versatile.

My Pythons are becoming my favorite leisure shooters. I have always wanted an Anaconda. I have been lusting for a 41 mag for a few years now.

28, about 50/50 autos vs revolvers, I think of it more so as a match between a firearm, cartridge, and application, but I do like classic designs much better than new plastic stuff. I have a lot of handguns, but my 686 makes the most trips to the range, is the most versatile (110-180gr 700fps-1800fps) and the most fun, what else can a newbie pick up and shoot 38 wadcutters out of, then pass to a gunnie and fire hot rodded 357 handloads that make all but the most seasoned gun folk jump, and all out of the same handgun without changing any parts?

I'm 63, started out shooting with .22 marksmanship routines, then with hunting. Handguns weren't really in the family shooting traditions.

Twenty years ago, I inherited a Model 27, a DS, and a Banker's Special--and that got my interest up in handguns--but in SemiAutos: anything from a 41, 52-2, and on into 1911s.

I never really shot the revolvers until this year, when I decided to get my carry permit--now I've got five new Smiths--442, M&P340, 640, M60-3", 686P-4", and a collectible 60. I got bit bad.

I'm 28 and only have one handgun...a springfield XD 9mm.

However in my "handguns i'm definitely going to buy in the next year or so" list there's two revolvers (Taurus Tracker .22 & Ruger GP100) and one pistol (a .45, likely a EAA Witness).

I'll be an even 50:50 then.

After then who knows what my tastes will lean towards

I miss my Taurus Model 94. :( And I REALLY miss my Dad's old S&W .38. :( :(

I'm just shy of 26, and own all autopistols since that first revolver. As I mentioned elsewhere, I REALLY want a wheelgun for my next buy.

Was wanting a snubbie, but CDNN has some GREAT deals on LEO-used stainless 4" Smith and Wessons. Alas, made a deal with myself that I could ONLY buy another gun after I had $xxxx saved up and was down to only $xxx in debt, so I imagine those will be long gone by the time that happens (mid to late next year)...
