Will a 357 Blow your eardrums out indoors?

A .357 fired indoors won't "blow your eardrums out", but it will be painful, cause at least some temporary hearing loss, and possibly permenant damage. Firing any gun, indoors or out, even a .22 without ear protection is a bad idea. Keeping some good electronic ear muffs near your home...

What is your go to in this situation?

Make sure all doors and windows are locked. Sit back and watch the news. I always have my G30 on me or within reach anyway, so nothing different there.

    Anyone arm themselves at Home?

    Of course.

    Anyone arm themselves at Home?

If my pants are on, my gun is on. Otherwise, there is at least one handgun within arms reach.

How do you carry your snubbie?

I got my SP101 and shoulder rig specifically for car carry and motorcycle riding. I normally carry my Kahr P45 or Glock G30 IWB, but its very hard to draw either while sitting. I will probably also get an IWB for the Ruger too, just to have the option.

Pregnant couple attacked by 5 girls on bus

While I am absolutely against the abuse of women, defending yourself and/or another from a violent person who happens to be female is not abuse. A crowded bus is no place to use a gun, but in that situation I would not hesitate to use whatever force needed to protect myself and my girlfriend...

    List Your Loot

Santa brought me a dremel tool - now I are a gunsmith! A few other goodies not gun related. The grandkids got most of the loot, but I did buy myself one big one, a new camera. Canon 7D with a set of 3 lenses, wide angle zoom, midrange zoom, and a telephoto. Always wanted another good camera...

Do you remember the very first time you went shooting?

I remember it very well, although it was over 50 years ago. The family went to visit my grandparent's farm in North Carolina. My grandpa and my dad took me and my sister out to the field behind the house and we all took turns with a .22 shooting at cans set up on a fence rail . I was about 11...

    How often do you carry?

"Hi All, I am very new to this forum and have been learning daily. Thank You! I am now confused(again!). I am wondering if all this "carrying" is done legally? Only a question and not an accusation. I am not asking anyone to admit they are or would do something illegal but, I'm 60 years old and...

I carry every day, everywhere it is legal for me to do so.

So, another Garand, or an M1A Loaded?

Well, there's pro's + con's either way, but given that you already have Garands, if it was me, I'd stay with the same platform and caliber. I love my M1A, and would also like to have a Garand, but at this point in my life I lean toward simplifying things, which means not adding another...

    One chambered w/CCW? POLL

Whether I'm carrying my G30, G19, or my Kahr P45, there's a round in the chamber and a full mag.

    What's the ultimate Carry handgun

The ultimate carry for one person won't be the ultimate for everybody else. My favorite is my Kahr P45. Light, slim, easy to conceal, 6+1 .45 ACP power, and most important, it has been 100% reliable for the last 1,000 rounds. (a few jams during the break-in, but perfect since) It fits my hand...

    Favorite polymer pistol poll

I voted for my Kahr P45, because it fits my hand well, is more than accurate enough for it's purpose, easy to conceal, and I am a fan of the 45acp for self defense. I also like my Glock G30 and G19, but the P45 has become my favorite EDC.

how often do you guys shoot?

I voted once a month, but it varies. Sometimes, if I'm working up some handloads I'll shoot 2-3 times a week, other times, if I'm busy at work, or a project at home, it might be a couple months between trips to the range. On average though it probably works out to at least once a month.

    Personal preferences in CCW features/actions/safties

My list is quite different from yours. No external safeties Same trigger pull every time Reasonable compromise between caliber, capacity and size for concealed carry Something that fits my hand and that I can shoot accurately, including follow up shots And most important: Goes bang every...

What Would You Choose? You Can Only Keep 2 Handguns You Own in 2 Different Calibers..

Glock G30 and Kahr PM9. The G30 for firepower, the PM9 for concealment.

Looking for Hi Cap .45 for CCW

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, no matter how irrational it may be. I'd go with the G30. 10+1 .45ACP, conceals surprisingly well, and mine has had zero failures of any kind with close to 10,000 rounds through it. No problems with any ammo I have fed it, HP's, RN's, SWC's, handloads or...

Is reloading safe for .45 acp Glock?

rcmodel is exactly right. Reloading for glocks in no different for reloading any other pistol. I have reloaded and fired thousands of rounds through my G30, and the only problem I have had was with some minimum power loads that I put together so my recoil sensitive wife could try the G30. At...
