I like mine a lot. I got one because it's a bit different and was oddly a tad cheaper than the more "standard" barrel lengths in the case.

It's a lot of fun to rest it on bags at the 50 yard range. Kind of like a Charger with open sights. :D Irks the rifle shooters when you shoot as well as them.

Hmm, I am very tempted, even the one at Bud's is with black rubber grips. I wonder if I can get a nice flapped leather holster for it...?

H&R also made some long barrelled revolvers. Here are 2 of mine, model 686 10" barrel, and model 686 12" barrrel. Both convertibles, shoot great, and have the option of shooting double action. great shooters, and even better conversation starters at the range!

Had one it was very accurate (or I was able to shoot it more accurately) with the long barrel. If you want to shoot 22 magnums the long barrel makes a lot of sense but is not great for packing if you will be getting into vehicles. A shooting buddy wanted it and I gave it to him for some favors he did for me. Great gun for long range shooting. Bill
