I had a chance to obtain an Ithaca M6 USAF survival rifle. It’s 22 Hornet over 410. It has 14” bbls I don’t think it’s ever been registered hence no tax stamp. Is there any way to register it as an AOW to me as it has no known history.
Recently obtained a black cordura S&W brand holster with suede lining , size 26 for a 6" N frame. Anyone know when these were made? I'm quessing in late 80's to late 1990's?? Quality seems good for a cordura holster.
Anyone heard of or used a Pachmayr Contour Fit holster. Its a rubber like material with basketweave finish. The one I received is marked for a L Frame 4" and fits perfectly and looks like it will not wear the finish and is waterproof. Should be a great field holster. Here is my 686 CS-1 in it.
With my normal hold on my s&W 6906 my trigger finger hits the frame before the hammer releases. Anyone else put a larger grip, say Hogue rubber or wood on their 6906 to alleviate this problem.
Sort of an observation here:can any sharp-eyed person tell what mods I made to the grips of my model 15? When I got them they were pretty beat up and peeling. I know M-15's came with the small magna type as standard, and regular target style were too big for my hand, so what did I do. Bruce
Was looking for a pre-lock SW66 in 2 1/2" at a gun shop when on vacation. Found one but kind of beat up.. This Python caught my eye and couldn't pass on it.
I have a nice Manurhin PP in 32acp-a West German police import by Interarms. Since the Walthers and Manurhins were both made in the same factory, did they use the same range of s/n's? Anyway, my Manurhin is s/n 29822. Someone must know the date of manufacture. Bruce
I plan on shooting factory loads in my 357 mag revolvers- I have one each of the above..Which do you feel will hold up better in the long run. They appear to be about the same size frames.
There was a thread awhile ago about grips by Fuzzy Farrant. I know he passed quite a few years ago. His grips were probably the best around-they had beautiful wood, fine checkering, palm swells open backstrap except for a recoil shoulder at the top. They are the most naturally pointing...
I have many boxes of blue box S&W ammunition from the 1970's:9mm, 38 spl. 357 mag,Nyclad, etc. Is there collector interest in this or should I just shoot it?
I know if you carry in a holster, leather or kydex, that there will be wear marks on the gun from holstering. How many worry about getting finish wear on an expensive gun even from an expensive holster? I don't see how it can be avoided -even my Glocks get shiny spots on the Tennifer finish...
I have a black Bianchi Sap from the 70's in new condition. Anyone out there who collects/own them and have an idea of its worth. I know Bianchi no longer sells them and are they legal to own or carry.
Just picked up this mid 1990's 9mm Browning HP Capitan with tangent sights in polished blue at a gun show. Has 2 13 round magazines and box, papers, etc. Love the retro look of the sights although not sure of their practicality at long range. Haven't shot it yet. The design is classic...
I have seen shoulder stock conversions for the G2 Contender that replaces the grips. Do they make one for the earlier T/C Contenders? If so does anyone installed them and how do they look/function?
Anyone have opinions on the now discontinued Taurus 3" Model 431 in 44 spl. I traded my 2" Taurus M85 in 38 spl. for it..Other than higher ammo costs and larger in size, I think I made a good trade. Both guns are blued and nearly NIB. I have other .38 snubbys so I decided to go for it.
