Case CV Sowbelly....
:DI have one of those beauties and it is my favorite daily carry. The Sowbelly is made from heavier gauge steel than the comparable Stockman model. The chrome vanadium takes and holds an edge wonderfully. I am a wood carver and it is imperative that the steel holds an edge...
Today's carry ?....
:neener:My faithful Benchmade AFCK ( advanced folding combat knife )...I am so glad I did not follow my tightwad tendencies about 9-10 years ago when I reluctantly shelled out $125.00 for this beauty. I see them nowadays for $3-400.00 Harold:o
......I own a Benchmade AFCK folder that is not only beautiful but is my favorite knife out of the 200 or so knives that I own. It has stayed sharp and without cosmetic blemish for about 15 years that I have had it. I whole-heartedly recommend Benchmade...Harold
How many knives ??....
Well, I have ( without counting them ) about 150-160 really nice knives. Most of them bought new in my 50 to 60 years of collecting them. That probably sounds excessive, but remember that is only about 3 or 4 knives per year. I will never sell them. I love to take them...
HSO....Thanks a million !!
I got your PM about sticking the blade in an onion. I did it and my pattern and patina has reappeared as if by magic ! Thank you very much, my Case Damascus looks as good as it did before I foolishly polished it. Harold:what:
Big mistake on Damascus Case blade !!
I have a few Case damascus bladed knives. I have one, a Case canoe, that I mistakenly used metal polish on and it removed the beautiful lines and swirl pattern of the Damascus blade. You can still see the pattern but only vaguely. The dark finish (patina ?)...
Best Shoot-out
I think the best shoot out was in "Open Range". I especially liked the opening shot straight to the forehead of a bad guy at point blank range.:neener:
Hi Power or 1911 ?
Get the Hi Power while you still can. You can get one of thier magnifico "T" models if you shop very astutely (made and assembled in Belgium). The workmanship is impeccable. On the other hand you can pick up a 1911 Colt or wannabe :cuss:clone any time. The Browning will most...
No Bull...plinking with my brother using my Glock 19, I saw a dragon fly about 20-25 feet away...told him to take a crack at it. He shot twice and missed...I raised my G19 and blew him out of the air one shot !! I said to him, O.K. i'm done lets go home !.....
P.S. I'm 73 yrs old been shooting...
Most beautiful ??
Please count me among the admirers of "the Masters' work," John M. Browning, the gorgeous Browning Hi Power. It is not only beautiful but highly accurate and dependable. It has fought in many wars, insurrections etc. and has served more than a few policemen world wide. If I...
Charles Daly 1911...
I have a Chas. Daly 1911 with all the whistles and bells..id est : ambi safety, skeletonized hammer and trigger, extended beavertail, front of slide serrations etc. I paid $360.00 for it at a local gun show. I would not sell it because it is a reliable good-looking and...
Hi Power or Glock?
:what: Why have to make a choice ? I am 74 years old and do not want to have to choose between two classic pistols. I have both, a beautiful 1969 BHP model "T" and a Glock 19 3rd generation. I had a G19 1st gen. for 20-some years and traded it for the newer one. ( I should...
