How are you liking your M&P Shield?

Accurate, reliable, cheap, light and easy to conceal. It would take a single stack 9 from Glock to provide real competition to fill this niche.

    1911 on a $600 budget

As far as I am concerned, Metro Arms American Classic II is one of the best kept secrets. I have owned many 1911's from PT1911 to semi-custom and I dare to say my MA ACII is the best 1911 I have owned!

    Tristar or Canik55 C100

I was wondering. The fit and finish, at least on the outside, is very good. The price looks like it would be hard to beat. Not very heavy either.

    1911 - Internal vs. External Extractor, Pro's & Con's?

With a properly tuned 1911, you can chamber the 1st round very slowly, the round will feed smoothly, you will never feel a hitch and no bullet setback will occur.

    Copper Fouling?

Handguns do not have enough velocity to deposit copper fouling, unless one of the very high speed calibers. Rifles do.

Picked up a new 1911 Kimber Ultra CDP II today

CDP Ultra My friend has a CDP Ultra without the II. The old original. I used and fired his gun for a couple weeks. Absolutely accurate and dependable. He would not sell this pistol for anything. I would trade any gun I own,(except my Anschutz 1712,) for it.

    Bushmaster Modular Carbine

I recently traded a Taurus PT1911 for a Bushmaster Modular Carbine. The Taurus had the safety, slide stop, barrel bushing, guide rod and plug replaced with Wilson Combat parts. It also had walnut double diamond grips. It was 100% reliable and very accurate. These were it's selling points. The...
