Based on the poll options, I am guessing 45ACP for this thread?

Sig 1911 XO is made from stainless steel frame/slide with black Nitron finish in the USA with much better fit/finish than RIA but has an external extractor. Both RIA and Sig are very accurate shooters and they have out shot many other 1911s under $1000 during my comparison range testing. I have not range tested STI Spartan but reviews have been very good on accuracy.

If you don't might the caliber I would vote on Sig XO. I have one and it's a very well craft piece. I think it's the best quality on your list and possible the best quality on that price range.
But between 45 and 9, I prefer 9mm so I would lean on the Spartan due to it's the best made 9mm 1911 in your budget.

The above Springfield Range Officer for $750 is one I have my eye on. That is a very good sample of the 1911. Also, RIA guns for the money seem to get good reviews

Ruger SR 1911 should be on list. Also, Regent 200s seems to be getting really good reviews. Talked to two people that have them and much higher priced 1911s and the Regents (newer builds) compare favorably

I like that magnum research 1911.
I am exceptionally pleased with my Cimmaron 1911. I have the polished blue model, and eel it does indeed rival the fit and finish of the old commercial Colts. Was just over $600. A parkerized version is also available, usually under $450.

Ruger SR1911. Find a new gun dealer or two. I paid under $700 a good while back.

Personally my 2 favorites, SIG RCS 1911 and STI Trojan, both more than your $725. I have shot the Taurus PT1911 in .45 and 9mm, for the money wow, feature for feature $ for $ one of the best. Forged frame, 3# trigger, real Novak sights, etc. SIG is a great choice, STI another but the finish on a Spartan is plain and it is a cast frame. I would go with SIG, then the Taurus and, and the American Classic (Metro Arms) third.

I voted other as I love my Kimber Custom II that was only $670 when bought about 1.5 years ago. I think you can still get for under $750. Dead-on accuracy and never an issue.
