I have a 8" Charger in 22lr that I've been using as a suppressor host for ranch varmints and general fun. (Yes my suppressor is a Tax Stamped Legit Unit) I've tried deciphering the new ATF memo and points worksheet to figure out if my Charger is included in this mess. Anyone have a better...
They have definitely changed over the years, in my experience. I started hitting gun shows in the late
'80s as a student. The "gun culture" was alive and well at that time and it wasn't uncommon for table owners to spend time talking to a high school kid and imparting wisdom of one kind or...
I went back and looked this one over again. It is a nice project guy, but.....it was someone else' project. I asked them if they would consider 350 but they wouldn't come off of the 450. With that impass in place, I have decided to pass on it and go to EA Brown for a 6.5 barrel for my TC...
I have the MVP in the Thunder Ranch configuration and love it. It is fast handling and accurate. The fact that it takes AR mags and is chambered in true 5.56 is icing on the cake. I had one of the original run heavy varmint versions a few years back when they came out. Really accurate with...
I found a 6.5X55 Mauser today at a local pawn shop. It has been seriously sporterized with a beautiful stock, #3 trigger and a toggling side mounted safety. The only markings are 6.5X55. I'm not sure if the barrel is original or not but it is a 24" sport contour.
It has a Tasco Pronghorn...
This topic hits me hard. Like many folks here, I too want to live in a country where people are not bleating like frightened sheep every time they see an "evil" black rifle or some person with a good piece of personal protection equipment. Unfortunately, we are not there yet as a society...
Years ago, when Glocks were first coming onto the scene, I was working the ER. We had a Sheriff's Deputy come in with a .45 Black Talon round on the lateral condile of his right knee from his issue Glock 20. He claimed that the "Gun without a safely just went off". After some Morphine for the...
I work as a Safety Specialist in the oil and gas industry and everyone out here is required to wear Z_87 rated safety glasses. This presented the same problem that you have to many of our work crew members. Last month, I found out that Walmart store optometrists are now carrying a subsidiary of...
Here's a picture of a cut down, round butt 5.5 to 4" conversion I owned a few years ago. Eventually, someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse on it but she was a hog killin' machine with heavy loads. I still regret selling this one.
Having seen and ranted about the Ohio stop for the last few days, I finally took time to look at this thread. What a night and day difference. Officer Lyonns is exactly what America needs more of in Law Enforcement. I wonder if he has considered a Chief's job. I think there may be an...
Extremely well said DP,
The part of this that truly saddens me is the partner and the ensuing behavior of the department. The partner didn't seem to see that anything "wrong" was going on on the part of the Officer in question and the department's initial behavior was to try and make the case...
Both Officers on that stop deserve to lose their badges, pensions and any other perks associated with law enforcement. Officer #1 for his behavior toward a law abiding citizen of state of Ohio and Officer #2 for failing to do his job in protecting that citizen from both the Assault & Battery...
Coverage of AZ Shooting is taking the expected course....unfortunately.
I'm getting sick already with the coverage of this case. I know that a lot of lives were lost and altered by a nut yesterday and I don't try to take away from anyone for that. What amazes me is how quickly the media, in...
Thanks Radagast: That time frame fits. It turns out that this Bodyguard was originally purchased by my Wife's Grandfather, a San Antonio PD Captain as a backup gun. Since he has now passed, the family got together and decided to pass it on to me since I completed my CHL and it was just sitting...
Finished my Texas CHL today and was given a 38 Bodyguard by my Father In Law as a nice gift. Serial is AFM3XXX . Barrel is not pinned. Cylinder not recessed. Super clean. Looks like it's spent it's life in a holster.
Any help on mfg. date?
Thanks,
Doc
