    AR fads

What SpeedAKL said. I let my Colt AR-15 go when Clinton was in office. It had all the evil stuff like bayonet lugs and 30 round mags. I did get about double what I paid (I think it was $615 new) but still wish I would have hung onto it. Still have the in-the-box manual, though - so I rememise...

    Can't decide on holster type

I hear that, E. Mine is a S&W 642 and I tried the Desantis IWB, Uncle Mike's stuff and several others. Finally opted for smooth grips on the gun and carrying in my coat or front pants pocket. Good luck.

    Hillary in '08? We'll know in '06!

I hear that, Preacherman! I'd like to see Condi and Hillary go at it. The Dems would have a tough time telling the city folks how to vote.

(Detroit) This doesn't help our image any....

Someone made a big stink about the signs back in January. The messages changed often but have been going on for years. The stink went away after a couple of days when Detroit's mayor had some allegations made about his partying at tax payers expense. I get a kick out of non-PC statements...

    Paging 642 owners?

I just stick it in some pocket. To facilitate removal, I replaced the stock rubber boot grips with smooth wooden laminate jobs.

What centerfire revolver do you enjoy shooting the most?

Ah, the 4.5 inch Vaquero in 45LC. Makes me feel like John Wayne and everything!

How active will Kerry be against guns?

Best answer I can come with it to consider what he has done for gun owners up til now. Difficult for me to see anything different if he's elected. By the way, he went goose hunting in Ohio this morning according to the news. Another photo op.

What's the smallest pistol you'd trust?

I don't carry often but when I 'have the feelin', it's the 642 w/ smooth wooden grips in the front pocket. No worrying about safetys or hammers hanging up; just point and pull the trigger. To me, that is important with all the stuff going through ones mind in the moment of truth. Heck, I can...

Your actual experience with the Beretta 92FS/M9

IMHO, the 92FS Centurian is the best auto loader I have ever owned, fired or seen. The ergonomics are perfect for my physical characteristics and I like the 9MM, especially the Federal Hydra-Shock. On the other hand, the 9000S is the ugliest .40 I have ever owned(or seen)and the ergonomics are...

    Mike Moore coming to Crawford

Now Brad, that's what I call a report! Good work.

    Liberal Ben Affleck is Pro-Gun?

O'Reilly is not necessarily a pro-gun individual and definitely wants to see the AWB renewed. He's pro-2nd amendment - but only with lots of baggage. I expected Affleck to be be in lock-step with the Moore thing. He really got my attention the first time he indicated he was pro-2nd amendment...

    Duplicating Military Match Ammo

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I have seen the 4895 and W231 loads at other sources since I posted, but the bullet combos and sources are new to me. Time to start sorting/weighing cases.

Okay - Here it is - POLL - Open Carry, Yes or No - and Why.

In Michigan, open carry is legal, or rather, there is no law AGAINST open carry. However, there are laws all over the place against brandishing and most LEO's in cities, towns and villages feel; if they can identify a firearm, it's brandishing. There are exceptions, of course, but I have not...

    Duplicating Military Match Ammo

I'm looking for suggestions from you serious match shooters on duplicating the Military Match ammo for .45 and 3006(M2?). I recently came into a supply of Match .45 and M1 once fired cases and want to see what I can do with them. Of course, any suggestions are taken as suggestions only.

Hey non-gun people. Why did you buy one?

Not me. My grandfather introduced me to shooting when I was six. Broke me in on a Springfield military bolt .22(wish I knew the mil designation). Have always been around firearms and learned very early(sometimes with knuggins up side the head)about firearms safety. Shortly after I found out...

    Dueling for the NRA Vote

For me, it's the 2nd Amendment, as written(not interpreted by spin doctors); the NRA and Bush. Voting is going to be simple! Any wavering I had at the onset of the campaign season was set straight by Gore's ranting; Moore's super-edited 'documentary' and, lately, the New York celebrity Demo...

Need a strong & reliable 9mm; Ruger or Beretta?

I have the beretta 92fs; my brother-in-law the ruger p85. both are excellent in 9mm. the beretta is more comfortable, more accurate, prettier and just functions better overall. i guess on a scale of 1-10, i'd give the 92fs a 10 and the ruger p85 a 9.9; they are that close. historically, there...

    AWB Renewal and Marriage Amendment

Marriage, or lack thereof, the definition of, in any way, shape or form, has no place being mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Marriage has nothing to do with government or the rights of the people. Marriage is a civil matter under the jurisdiction of state and local government. Changing...

    Pistol for hunting deer...

Use a heavy caliber revolver. Hunting is probably the best use of a .44mag outside of making 'Dirty Harry' movies.
