The Savage 311H 20 guage shotguns in near new condition usally sell for $500 to $600 here.I have one like you describe and I love to hunt with it.Will never part with mine.
In my youth I remeber going to the local hardware and buying 3 or 4rounds at a time.Back then most folks could not afford a whole box at a time.I do not think that any stores do that anymore.But back then everywhere that sold ammo would sell individual rounds.
I will use the following.
1.Marlin 45/70 with a Leupold Scout Scope and handloads with 405 REM JSP
2.Ruger M77 257 Roberts topped with a Leupold 3X9X40 using handloads with 117 grain Hornady interlocks
3.Ruger M77 compact in 260 rem topped with a leupold 1.75x6x32 using handloaded 129...
The 41 magnum is my favorite handgun caliber.In my experience the 41 magnum is generally more accurate than either the 357 mag or the 44 mag.Great gun .You will love it.
