    Subliminal Gun COntrol

My agent asked even though he already knew the answer. Rates didn't change. I was told they'd only cover up to $X.XX for gun loss (don't remember the amount) and anything over that would require a rider. Same thing for jewelry and other valuables.

Alarmist AP article on guns very alarming!

Read the trace data from ATF used for the report. Page 2 of each report says that not all firearms are traced and of those that are not all of them were used in a crime. Also doesn't tell how/why a gun crossed state lines, could have been bought in one state and the owner moved then it was...

Is it legal to carry a gun on the highway through Fort Benning?

You really need to contact the Fort Benning Provost Marshall's Office to answer your question. Most likely it is illegal for you to carry a gun on that portion of the installation.

    Anti gun individuals, companies, etc.

George Clooney was a surprise to me, can't imagine anyone from KY being that way but,,,,,. As for Anderson, watch MacGyver again, never used a gun and was at times anti-gun. Connery, where is he from? Oh yeah, that island just west of mainland europe that is really anti-gun. Here's your...

    Do you Carry chambered?

Wow, since we've gone to all the trouble of reviving a dead thread, yes the wife and I both carry with one chambered and no safety on our handguns. Terrible huh? Does it really matter how someone carries their sidearm?

Virginia - must PROVE citizenship when buying "assault rifle???"

Doesn't matter, it's a state law so everyone has to deal with it. Been that way for a while, not really anything to complain about though. I bought an "assault rifle" last January and didn't even realize this law existed until recently. Since we have to show DL and a second item with the...

Virginia - must PROVE citizenship when buying "assault rifle???"

You have to present something else with the same address as you DL regardless of what type of firearm you purchase in VA, why not use your Voters Registration Card and kill 2 birds with one stone? Wouldn't even have to worry about it that way. The only time I used my CHP in VA it took 4 hours to...

Bought Pistol on THR but never recieved!

I'd talk to the USPS, sounds like it could be mail fraud. With a USPS M/O involved they might look into it.

    Call my governer!!!

Funny, that's the same argument used by the anti's in Virginia. The one thing that is left out is that in VA we can open carry in a restaraunt and drink. If the CCW in a restaraunt law had passed the CCW would, by law, be without drinking and the ABC manager on duty would have to be informed we...

    Call my governer!!!

It passed the General Assembly but was vetoed by our enlightened Governor. The GA couldn't override the veto so we are where we started from, no CCW in a restaraunt that serves alcohol for on premise consumption.

    New VA resident buying handgun

The Driver's License (or other photo ID) has to have been issued for at least 30 days to purchase firearms. So if you use a recently issued VA license you end up with a 30 day residency requirement. http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+18.2-308.2C2 See paragraph B.1

    VA ccw ques.

Check the VA DMV site about getting a DL. Seems to me that there is something funny about getting a VA license for the first time now, something like you have establish legal presence. Check www.dmvnow.com for the actual requirements.

Legal ?: Can an apartment ban firearms in the lease

Check out section 18.2-308 of VA code. It is a misdemeanor of trespassing to posess a firearm on private property if prohibited by the owner. The lease prohibits possession of firearms on the property. PA law doesn't apply. I thought this site would be somewhat different from others I've been...

    .22LR Purchase

I had this same problem 30 years ago, what part of .22 long RIFLE don't they get? As I understand it you should be asked whether it is being used in a rifle or pistol, if you answer pistol you must be 21- if you answer rifle you must be at least 18. I am not aware of any federal list of handgun...

Legal ?: Can an apartment ban firearms in the lease

The OP asked about VA law, not other state's laws. VA law allows the property owner to determine whether or not to allow firearms on their PRIVATE property. There is no certain sign that they must use, simply telling you to remove the firearm from their property is enough, if you refuse you are...

    VA ccw ques.

VA CC permits are issued by the court of the county in which you reside, the application must be notarized which means you present your drivers license so it will be obvious that you have a KS license. You must also present your DL with your CHL when asked by LEO. Yes, you would have to get a VA...

Legal ?: Can an apartment ban firearms in the lease

Private property, yes they can do that. If the lease is signed then it is agreed to. Nothing says your friend can't ask to strike that part of the lease. Don't know why firearms are lumped with pets, maybe so you'll overlook it? UVA is off limits for any kind of carry if you are a...

    Visitor from the Census Bureau?

After loosing her job my daughter-in-law checked into a temporary "Census Bureau" job, going door to door like in the OP situation. Turn out that while it actually was for the census, it was not as a government employee. Hard to tell what kind of questionable looking indiviuals you may see going...
