So........from that link here's some of these "one star reviews::rofl:
Sep 16, 2020 Rated 1 out of 5 Terrible experience Poor customer service. Ordered A lower Receiver & now i cant get in touch with the FFL dealer for pick up.
Nov 19, 2020 Rated 1 out of 5 These are great lowers, but at $99 each they are no longer the people's lower they used to be.
Nov 8, 2020 Rated 1 out of 5 FFL dealer closed shop Only reason I'm leaving 1 star is because the FFL dealer closed up shop and has my lower that I cant get to or pick up.
Dec 10, 2020 Rated 1 out of 5 PSA AR receivers are as good as any other mill-spec.... All mil spec receivers work equally well. The price and availability is the deciding factor for me. $50.00 receivers work just as well fit and function wise as do $200.00 receivers.
Feb 21, 2021 Rated 1 out of 5 great lower. quality build.
May 2, 2018 Rated 1 out of 5 Was not able to receive through Cabelas still sitting and waiting at Cabelas

Being that there are twenty one star reviews and these were six of them..........now count the five star reviews and get back to us on how awful PSA is.
I agree. It's easy to complain if you don't get what you expect.
If you get what you expected. Then it's just standard operating procedure.
I don't have any PSA parts. But I wouldn't be scared of them.

PSA started the increases in price of March of 2020 on everything they can make an extra profit on, everyone else follows their lead. These companies are not your buddies, they will toss you UNDER the BLEM bus right after the COvid money runs out.

DONT LICK BOOTS! call them out!

PSA protest! July = no PSA = No Midway = No BCA

I've bought lots of stuff from PSA...blem lowers...blem uppers...lower parts kits...etc.

Outside of sometimes very slow shipping..I've never had a problem with them. They say it was blem stuff..but I'll he damned if I can ever find the actual blem.

Its all Mil Spec stuff. I've put the kits together..they have all shot the exact same as every other Mil spec AR I've ever shot. No worse...no better.

I'll do more business with them without any hesitation.

Hater just gotta hate I suppose....

And there is a certain company in Las Vegas that runs a shooting range with full auto rentals. Some of those are from Palmetto State Armory. They shoot more rounds in a day than most will in ten years or even a lifetime. The company owner has made several posts on AFRCOM detailing the high rounds counts on various types of firearms. We are talking 100,000 rounds or more. And the PSA AR's hold just as good as other more expensive brands.

And most of my builds use lowers and uppers from either PSA or Anderson. They work just as well as what Uncle Sam ever issued me.

Back on topic. The only blem that I have bought from PSA that I could see what the blem actually was is the PA10 lower.

And @GunnyUSMC is correct about the receiver ears getting broke when trying to install the trigger guards. Someone got heavy handed with the hammer and also did not have the lower properly supported.

When prices start rising, it's because demand is outstripping supply and/or materials and replacements are becoming more expensive. If a retailer does not increase prices, stock is sold out, there is no way to replace it, eventual replacements will cost more and fixed costs continue all the while. If prices are adjusted, consumption slows and there is a chance for the supply chain to refill. This is not nefarious or underhanded. The retailer must make a profit or will cease to exist. Some such as CTD cancel existing orders and try to make a killing. They won't get my money. I am perplexed, however, that PSA is getting pummeled for selling at reduced pricing.

I have always found it funny that when some people are not happy with a product, or vender, they seem to make it their life mission to let everyone know and get them to avoid the product, or vendor. And in a forum topic, it tends to sidetrack the topic.
Everyone makes a lemon once in a while. SA sells more lowers in one month then some companies sell in a year. When a company has a lower sells volume, they can address returns quicker. But then some companies are just faster at handling returns.
I know that PSA will email a return shipping label. If you’re one that can’t print the label or able to forward it to someone that can, then they will mail you one. Mailing a shipping label is outside their standard operational procedures so, it does take longer.
If you’re one of these type of people just be mindful, to the rest of us, you just sound like someone complaining about his divorce.;)

The topic was PSA "Blems". My advice is to have the ability to return something. I have no beef with PSA personally. All I advise is to buy something regular on sale, just in case...

Yah so not all the one star reviews are really one star, so what? I did not Quote them, nor are you giving all the bad reviews...neither is productive.

Keep laughing if you want...all I say is buy something you can return with no issues.

Such a terrible ting to say about PSA...S/

So, you were being disingenuous about how you were representing the one star reviews.
Tom provided evidence to the contrary, which I find quite productive. They were only twenty to read at the link you provided, all of them comical.:)

We are all still talking about “BLEM” listed lowers, correct?
If so, they are merely cosmetically blemished. PSA will still warrant their functionality. They won’t refund them for a scratch or a rough anodized that make non shooters wince.

Oddly enough, a trigger guard ear broken off during assembly is abuse, not a defect. Few companies will replace a lower for breaking it on purpose…

There are members here that I don’t know much about, but there are several that have a good reputation for knowing what they are talking about.[
Agree 100%.

As for the debate of mark-ups vs gouging.... If I sell something, unless it's junk I just want rid of (blems?) I sell it based on what it would cost me to replace it. Not what it cost to obtain it originally.

I've installed several trigger guards, and it's easy to break
one if you're not skilled enough to do it right. I can strip a
1911 down to a pile of all the parts and put it back together
without even thinking, but I wouldn't attempt to disassemble
any revolver - I've never done it before.

All comical? Really...poor machining is not comical. PSA makes their own now, it was not always that way. In no way did I say anything other than SOME duds. You gonna deny that? I have no idea how many, and no one can tell from a handful of reviews, that it can happen is undeniable. You also can not be 100% sure the tab broke from abuse, and yes it is common issue.

Definition of disingenuous
: lacking in candor also : giving a false appearance of simple frankness :

Yikes..calling me a liar, just call the three recent reviews by purchasers of lowers of serious issues liars if you like, all I did was answer the call to post them. I also edited OUT words like "scam" one review due to PSA replying they would "take care of the issue." I take PSA at their word.

You simply need to look in the mirror before calling people names.

Yes I've read that on Ar-15.com, Battlefield Vegas, even Colt uppers will eventually fail, keep in mind they only are about hitting paper at 7 yards if memory serves correct.

Simple Supply and demand. Don't like the price don't buy it. With PSA, give them 6 months or more and the price will come down.

Agreed. I think many people (I am not implying or insinuating anyone on here) place undue blame on the retailer for price increases. I am not saying that the retailer lacks any responsibility for price increases, but there are other factors such as the cost of raw materials, shipping costs due to increases in fuel prices, government regulations pertaining to taxes and pay of employees, etc that can impact prices and affect how a retailer prices its products. My point is that a company exists to make a profit. I’m sure that every company would like to charge their customers $0.01 for everything, but that is not a feasible business model. I noticed PSA’s price increases. I simply refused to buy at elevated prices and now that things are calming down and prices normalizing, I will likely buy from PSA and others.

Also, this is not limited to the gun industry. Have you attempted to buy paint recently, especially from places like Sherwin Williams? It is incredibly expensive due to a latex shortage brought on by a lack of truck drivers. Apparently, some truck drivers get paid the same or more on unemployment than when they drive so they choose to stay home. Whether this is true or just what the representatives at multiple Sherwin Williams are saying is open for debate. However, it seems plausible and demonstrates how there is more at play than a retailer simply setting a price.

Twenty, a whopping TWENTY, one star reviews. Either you put waaay to much credence in any one star review or you have no earthly idea how many AR lowers PSA sells a year. A hundred NEGATIVE reviews would be one thing, but there aren't. It a whopping twenty and three of those actually say they're great lowers, the other three are complaints about the receiving FFL.....an FFL the buyer chose and not at all the fault of PSA.

So here you are using FOURTEEN one star reviews as a reason to not buy PSA. Percentages? You don't understand the word.

I did not Quote them...
Yeah, you did. See post #42

nor are you giving all the bad reviews.
I don't need to. I'm not the one giving the impression PSA reviews are full of one star reviews...."duds" as you called them.
Pointing out that six of those twenty reviews were actually POSITIVE seems to make your warning disingenious at best.

...neither is productive
Given that PSA ships tens of thousands every year, why bother pointing out a whopping twenty one star reviews? :scrutiny:[/QUOTE]

Some people, for whatever reason, are not going to like PSA. They had one bad experience or read a review of a bad experience. Or maybe they charge more than when you built your last rifle 10 years ago...But it cannot be argued that PSA has put ARs in more hands than probably any other company.

I’ve built over 100 ARs with PSA lowers and have nerve had a problem with them. I remember back when they had the PTAC line. These were rifle kits and uppers that had blems. Most of the PTACs were built with FN parts.
PSA also puts out a premium line of rifles. I’m not sure about now, but these used to be built with FN parts.
I have a friend that refuses to buy from PSA anymore. He bought one of their AR10 lowers and waited another six months to buy a lower parts kit to finish his build. The only problem was that at the time the sales of AR10 had skyrocketed. Everyone and their mom was building an AR10. The PSA lower was not compatible with all the parts of a DPMS AR10. The bolt catch and rear takedown pin were different. PSA was out of part kits for a while and whenever they did get them in, they were sold out within an hour or so. My friend ended up buying a DPMS LPK and found that all the parts would not work.
Before he had bought the lower, I told him about the difference in the lowers so, he knew that he would have to buy a PSA LPK from the start. But due to his own fault of dragging his feet, he’s mad at PSA.

Yup his own fault for sure. But no reason to boycott a company for your own mistake. I knew the incompatibilities with the large frame DPMS pattern rifles from the get go so I ordered everything for my build from PSA.

Mine is the first gen PA10 and works great. Like I said the lower was a blem where someone complained about MagPul mags not locking in so they chamfered the magwell and didn't re coat it.

Maybe we will get lucky now that PSA owns DPMS and we will start to see some type of industry standards on the large frame AR's

I know wishful thinking.

Tom,

I did not quote "mistaken" one star reviews, that is what I was referring to...as for percentages, like I said, it would be impossible to tell, likely not a huge number.
