I get emails from PSA and it looks like they are trying to offload a lot of inventory. I think they figured out people aren’t buying at the high prices anymore and they are calling certain items “blem” to reduce the price.

or.. their QC has been really bad recently. Most people I’ve seen buy blem PSA can’t really find the issue.

I think another positive sign things are going back to normal.

Who knows but I have built more than one AR using their so called blems way before this ever started and never had an issue. Sometimes could not even find what they were calling a blem. Primary Arms does the same thing so maybe they do have excess inventory. I have noticed that their prices have come down even on non blem items as of late. Now I wish their ammo prices would do the same. Got some really good deals on case lots before this mess started.

I don’t want to turn this into a PSA bash thread. I just wanted to point out that they are marking a lot of things as “blem” as to make it appear like you are getting a great deal and the price reflects the blem. However, this is PSA’s way of starting to move the price back closer to normal.

Several years ago I put together a rifle from one of their blemished rifle kits & a blemished lower. The assembled upper used a barrel made by FNHerstal. The barrel had a place on it that looked scuffed. I went over it with a black magic marker & haven't worried about it since. The fellow that did the transfer for me on the lower unwrapped it & looked all over it when he brought it out of the back for me. He said he had never been able to find anything wrong with one of them. Mine is a pretty plain jane M forgery type rifle but it is fine for my purposes.

I’m not going to comment about PSA pricing practices over the last year! and I’ll always remember be ones who stooled strong and didn’t take advantage of the gun community.

I have never heard an account of a PSA blem with an identifiable blemish. . . and I live up the road and probably know the owners of 100+ PSA rifles.

I understand what you are saying but there are many other of the regulars that jacked their prices up during the last year. It was not all price increases either. If I canceled them all out there would not be many left to buy from except my locals and they don't have everything I need. Just my .02...

Have built a couple of blems from PSA. All were just fine.
PSA was also affected by the pandemic restrictions, stay at home order, and rising cost of raw materials (supply and demand). While they make a lot of their own parts they don't make them all. Do really expect them to keep their prices low forever.

didn’t do good in school
Uhhh....didn’t do well

Anyway, I suspect at sometime PSA uses the “blem” basically as click bait. Everyone loves a deal, and it offloads extra inventory supported by a seemingly valid reason for the new and improved price

I’ve dealt with PSA three times and it was all good
