1" Scope Mount options? Nightforce Ultramount with 1" reducer rings?

Well...Just a noob jumping the gun again... :ninja:

Purchased a Trijicon TR-20 3-9x40 to sit on top an Aero Precision 'AR10' Want a higher scope mount 1.93 or 1.70(Badger only), lightweight is paramount and no hinged designs for ultra durability.

It's a 1" scope and I did not realize nearly every mount consideration I had (Badger, Nightforce, Scalar, Reptillia, and more) all only make 30mm and 34mm. Badger makes their own 1" reducer rings so I'm sure fitment is nice. I wasnt a huge fan how bulky the bolts stick out though, still a consideration. Reptillia is perfect design IMHO based on no bolts sticking out but only goes to 1.5"

Top two options left...

1. Nightforce Ultramount 1.93. ULTRA durable, 6.1 oz, 2 bolt clamp design. def high mount but I am considering the 0.25 riser on magpul CTR stock. Before you criticize me I am stiffed necked physically and it's becoming more of a precision shooting trend to pair higher mount with riser for comfortability. The Issue is it's only made in 30mm at smallest so I need reducer rings. Nightforce does not make reducer rings but I'm sure there are some out there that work.

2. Badger Ordinance 1.70 or 1.93. ULTRA durable, 6.3-6.5oz, bolt clamp design. Choose height...Badger makes 1" reducer rings so it will be a solid fit. Bolts stick out a little more but not a deal breaker.

Are reducer rings seen as a bandaid fix or is it acceptable to run them reliably long term? Thanks for any info, Ive spent couple days searching Google and many opinions mixed. Purists say no way never! others say it holds zero.

Does anyone know of a 1" one piece cantilever mount at least 1.63" in height?

approx 1.6" centerline height is pretty standard. not sure why you want the reducer rings, but no matter the scope tube diameter, centerline height will still be roughly 1.6"

if you really want to go higher, I think you're going to need a picatinny riser. see examples here https://www.brownells.com/search/index.htm?k=picatinny+riser+mount

as far as mounts themselves go, I've been partial to the aero precision ultralight mounts for a long time. or the utg accusync rings for when I'd rather spend money on my optic where it matters instead of the mount where it matters.....less.

And I've had that vortex mount. it came on a scope I bought used. it is massively overpriced. I would honestly take a $35 accusync over that mount. and the aero is WAY better.

Apologies if I was not clear enough in first post :) My preference is the Nightforce Ultramount in 1.93 height and its only made in 30mm and 34mm. The only way to run this mount is with 30mm to 1" reducer rings as my Trijicon TR20 is a 1" scope body.

The Vortex so far is the ONLY option other than Aero Precision I have found. I do like and endorse the aero precision mounts but for this build durability is paramount so for that reason they are ruled out.

Why is Aero way better? From material used on both, design and weight the vortex seems to be more durable. From a weight standpoint I agree and there was a time just recently no way I would consider the 6.7oz vortex mount. But research and time has taken me there...

I’ve used reducers, and yes, they’re an uncomfortable bandaid. Not preferred.

If I had to use such a high rise optic and couldn’t find a one piece mount AND couldn’t accept tall rings, I would use a one piece riser rail - typically available in half inch boosts, under a common height one piece mount, rather than using reducer collars.

Checking them out now but the problem still exists not many options for 1" one piece mount. Maybe I should have got the Luepold Mark 3HD 3-9x40mm with Firedot TMR reticle. It's very close to what I got just battery powered instead of fiber optic/tritium powered but its a 30mm tube.

Warne has 1' options at a 1.43 height. Then they make an extra high but its only offered in 30/34mm LIKE EVERY SINGLE MANUFACTURER! :cuss:

Found this guy but its heading towards a 10 oz mount

They say 1" tube is 1.83" to center line

Larue SPR has a 1" option at 1.93, great mounts, ran thier QD mounts for Aimpoint Micro and magnifier flip mount in past. Notoriously heavy though

Thank you, I discovered more as more searching happened. Daniel defense also makes a standard 1.5 at 5.5oz but its out of stock. Larue doesnt publish weight but I think its about 9oz. Borbo has an option but its a tank at 10oz!

I have also begun looking into picatiny risers as mentined above. I may be able to stay lower on weight doing that route but then I have more seams/bolts that could come loose. But this also gives me more rail space for red dot offset mount.

I feel like badger is at least worth a consideration, they make 30mm to 1in reducers for thier condition one mount. They are top notch.

Why not just get a 1" Aeroprecision with the right height riser. 3.07 oz. and probably quite a bit cheaper than the other options.

Yea I have an Aero 30mm. For the build I just feel like Aero is to fragile. I'm not knocking them, I own them, own Aero guns. But that mount has been known to break when the rifle is 'actually used'. Also some have broken just under recoil. My build is 308 so...
