For 10 grand? I think I'd go with a manurhin mr73, then a mint Colt diamondback 4 inch in 22lr. If there's enough left I'd get a S&W model 15 night guard. That would pretty much take care of 10 grand.

The BFR is about 75% the gun at a third the cost. They're just physically beefier. The FA83 is actually a wee bit smaller than a large frame Ruger.

I've GOT a MR73. Not a shiny new Beretta import, but a years ago Shotgun News offer of Vienna PD surplus. Price at the time for a well used Austrian cop gun about like a new S&W. Shoots like a S&W. Now I'd put the money into a super tune for a Smith.

I looked at a FA but it was defective. No matter how hard I pulled the trigger, it would not go off.
Oh, wait, you have to cock it first. Nope.
