I finally moved my 10/22 build up to the front of the line and got it done. I haven't had a chance to get it out and give er' a run down at the range but hopefully soon.

I decided to only install a VQ hammer and springs and bushings. Also a Installed a VQ extractor. The rest of the trigger time was spent polishing the sear and trigger plunger and disconnector. By the time it was all done I now have a sweet 2 pound trigger pull with no creep.

Here is a list of part I used during the build.

KID 18" Match Barrel
Bell & Carlson Target/Varmint Stock - black
VQ Target Hammer, Shims & Bushings
VQ Target Rifle trigger with set stop
VQ Edge Extractor
Tactical Solutions V-Block Barrel Retainer
Tactical Solutions Extended Mag Release
Power Custom Recoil Buffer
Power Custom Weaver Style Scope Mount
Mueller 4.5-14x40 AO APV Scope
Burris Zee Rings medium height

$$ damages were a little high after it was all said and done but what the heck, I'll enjoy it for a lifetime and it should prove to drive tacks.

The reason I chose the stock I did was because it a combination Target/Varmint stock with a wide forend for the bench but with curved edges for carry in the woods. I also like the fact it has the cutout for the rear bag on the bench. Along with sling attachments for carrying. Overall a nice combination stock if you want to do both hunting and benching.

Enough of the technicals... onto the pics

Nasty habits those 10/22 can become. Nice look'n rifle. I built my wife a nice one and it was to heavy so I built her a light wieght custom rifle. Now i have one too. Have you hung around rimefire central? And hay you would just find something else to blow that money on.

Definitely been on rimfirecentral. I studied that site for at least two weeks getting tips and tricks before attempting this build. Alot of good information over there for the 10/22.

Your right about blowing the money on something else. I tell the wife I could just as well spend it down the street at the bar but at least this way I have something to show for it. :uhoh:

Seems you are missing an important part. An adjustable sear. Don't mean to second guess, but you should have got the sear and hammer package. If you bench rest the rifle and do your best at a very slow squeeze on the trigger with follow through, is there any creep or movement before the trigger goes. By the way, what pound trigger do you have?
The adjustable sear mated with the hammer allows you to adjust the trigger via allen wrench to break with no creep. Nada. Mine has a barely perceptible movement (just enough to know you have touched the trigger) and breaks clean at 2#s.
And by the way, nice looking rifle. I like that stock.

Should shoot like a house afire with the KID barrel. I might suggest getting the Power Custom auto bolt release. It's a little longer and serrated and might peak out from behind that speed magazine release for easier manipulation.
