Hello all,
I have a 10/22 and I love it to death, but the one problem I have with it is that because I have fairly long arms, the stock feels a bit too short for me to shoulder and aim the gun comfortably. Secondly, the slick plastic that the butt plate is made of tends to slip out of my shoulder, even when I'm holding the rifle tightly. I was thinking about one of these to solve my problem:
10/22 butt pad
However, since I will buying it sight unseen (no one near me sells these things), I wanted some feedback on it before I drop the cash. I'm just wondering who has experience with this accessory and whether it's worked well for them or not.
Thanks in advance,
-Nic

I had the same problem and found this to be a respectable solution.

Picked mine up at a gunshow for about what they are asking for here, so the price is reasonable, but not the smoking deal that they want you to think....

This pad fits into the groove where the plastic butplate sits on the base 10/22 and installs easily. The fit is not perfect but is serviceable and it does the job.

For the price I thought this was well worth the investment. At some point in the future I may invest in a new stock, but for now this works well for me.

YMMV. :D

By the way, the rubber is pretty stiff, so I would argue that it does little to "soften recoil" as the ad would suggest, but that shouldn't be a problem on the 10/22....

Did the same to mine since the 10/22 isn’t made for a six foot wingspan.

Only difference I experienced from No4Mk1’s is that I had an excess of rubber overlapping the width of my stock. Had to fit it like a shotgun buttpad – mask the stock, sand it close, and did the final fit off the gun. Freeze the pad if you do – makes a nicer job.

Nice unit. Good luck.
