I've used my punch set to remove some tight sights in my day.

Until today, the biggest pain in the rear were the sights on my XDM 5.25.

I beat on that thing for probably 15 minutes before I could get it to budge,

I bent a punch and said some things I shouldn't have said, but finally got it out.

Is this normal, or are 10/22 front blades always that tight? Once it budged it basically fell out, so I think it was stuck somehow.

Anyways, just thought I'd share and see if anyone else has run in to this.

I'm just glad it finally came out, Can't wait to try out these Tech Sights.
Stock should be here this week, and my m1 carbine clone will be finished :D

I just added an aftermarket sight to my 1970's vintage 10/22 this past weekend. The front sight came out with a few taps from a small brass faced gunsmith's hammer. The instructions specifically stated removing it from left to right when viewing from the rear of the rifle. It came out amazingly easy in my opinion. Did the dovetail appear to be rusted or corroded at all?

Interesting to me because I plan to mount a Williams Receiver sight on mine and Williams predicts that I'll need a higher front sight than the factory one is. I'll find out for myself soon and report my experience.

The sight pushers you see for handguns,,,,
The things are made for rifle sights too, function is excellent and no marring or battering of the sight base.

I absolutely love my 10/22 M1 Carbine, with the stock and Tech Sights. With a BX-25 mag, its a bullet hose. With the rotary 10, its a 25 yard rabbit gun. The only other mods I would recommend are an extended mag release and a better bolt release.

I wasn't sure about the screws that hold the front Tech sight in, so I red Locktited them in.
