10/22 replacement rear sights

I've only got one thing I can gripe about with the 10/22, and that's the rear sights. I can't stand the folding sights that come on the gun (got it last October), since I learned to shoot using v-notch ramp sights. I just can't shoot well with U-shaped sights, and the folding rear sights just mess up my aim somehow - I can shoot fine on other guns with ramp sights.

What options do I have in terms of replacing the folding U sight with a ramp V sight?

Tech-Sights are win. They are aperture style, the best in terms of iron sights IMO. Sight picture on my 10/22 with Tech-Sights installed:

Another +1 for the Tech Sights. My 10/22 can run fist-sized groups at 100 meters all day long with those.

did you try flipping the blade on the rear site first its got a square cut on one side and a u shape on the other

otherwise +++1 on the tech sites a friend has them on his rifle and its a nice setup

I didn't know they were here in SC.

I did buy a set of TechSIGHTs a while back. I like them, but I need to replace the apertures with something more to my taste.

Yeah, but since I'm not exactly a large quantity consumer of TechSIGHTs products, that doesn't hurt me too bad.

I put a set of fiber optic sights on mine and like them well enough. my only gripe is that the rear sight is sometimes brighter than the front. I'm not positive but I think they are from Hi-Vis.
I think that Tech-sight might be something I'd like to upgrade to. Sorry about the thread drift but do any of you know if the rear sight is compatable with a stock type front sight?

I think the stock front sight blade is too short.

That's pretty much what I figured. Thankfully there are lots of choices out there since it uses AR style posts.

I am VERY glad to see this thread! I've been looking at the Tech-Sights for my son's Ruger. The info I've read here makes me really want these ...birthday coming soon!
