10/22 Scout Rifle

Does anyone make a scope mount or a barrel drilled and tapped for a "scout" (forward) scope application? I want to use this idea on a Ruger 10/22.

Tapco recently came out with an AR-15 type stock for the 10-22 that has rails on the fore end. They are listed in Cabelas and other places for around $90. Ruger even offers their 10-22 new with the stock now.

If you have a .920 diameter heavy barrel, you can take a volquartsen cantilever mount and install it backwards, and it effectively becomes a forward sitting scout mount.
