I'm looking for some of these in .32 cal. (.312 dia.). I found some online but want to see if I can help someone clear out some clutter before I take the plunge. Looking for 500-1000.

Is there a jacketed bullet with cannelure that is the equivalent, but cheaper?

Thanks.

The XTP, Sierra Sportsmaster, and Speer Gold Dot are about the only options for cheap jacketed 32H&R/327FM bullets, at least the ones you can actually get your hands on. The XTP tends to be the cheapest of that group. If you want cheap bullets but don't want to go full lead, plated bullets can be had for about half as much as these jacketed players, although you won't find cannelures on any of these. Ease up on your belling and screw out your crimp die and you can manage these in the H&R or FM. I shoot the Rainier as a "practice bullet" behind the XTP in my 32's and 327's.

The Ranier 100 Gr bullet shoots well in some guns, use a taper crimp. I recently played with some coated 100s in full load .32 Long and Mag and have been happy with them.

I also bought some 98 Gr coated WCs for light loads that I have yet to try. I have been shooting the Berrys 83 plated WC flush in .32 Long and Mag for a light target load, but they are not being made right now.

I like the 85 and 100 Gr XTPs as well, great bullets, just more expensive. I picked up some Blem 85s I am still using.

What a new and unique way of saying you would like to buy some at a reduced price!:uhoh::scrutiny:

"...Looking for 500-1000..." Your local gun shop can order 'em for you. How long it'll take depends on whether or not his supplier has any. .312" bullets are kind of odd(Cabela's, for example, caries 1 brand(Berry's) of plated bullets only.), so 'cheap', depending on what you think that is, very likely will not enter into the equation.
Midway wants $17.79 per 100. Graf's wants $17.47 per box, if you buy 5 boxes. Both plus shipping.
Forget the cannelure altogether.

When you find a source just buy what you want, it isn't worth your time and energy to keep looking to save a few dollars. I went thru this same process recently with the same bullets and when I found what I wanted I grabbed several boxes.
