Over the last few weeks, I've noticed a number of posts regarding the 10mm. Many are people in favor of having existing models produced in this cartridge. Surely there are people from the manufacturers that browse the various boards, so do you think they'll notice the interest and act on it? ;) Could there be a resurgance of the 10mm? :)

I'm neither for nor against the cartridge, but did always wish I bought one of the Colt Dbl Eagles. Always liked the look of it.

I couldn't imagine a better platform for the 10mm auto than the CZ 97B. If CZ would ever produce it, I would TWO; one shooter, one safe queen.

poof...

I have an original FBI issue Smith & Wesson 1076; more for 'cool' factor than anything else. I really like the 10mm cartridge and think that if it was a more popular choice for personal defense firearm and more stats were compiled, we'd see that it was a very effective round for personal defense.

I’ve always liked the Glock 20 as a 10mm platform and have lust in my heart for a Colt Delta Elite.

If it was possible in this state I love to see an Auto Ordnance Thompson made with matte stainless steel and black synthetic furniture in 10mm.

Now that would be rockin’ good times!

One of the best 10mm's out there costs less than $400. The Witness is a very good, accurate gun.

I would certainly welcome (and buy) more 10mm options. For example:

- SW99 in 10mm (not too big a leap, since they make a .45).
- HS USP Compact in 10mm.
- CZ in 10mm (though I'd really prefer something smaller and lighter than the CZ 97B).

In fact, I'd like almost any medium weight and size traditional double-action semi-auto. I don't have much interest in a 1911 or DAO 10mm, or a revolver (not to knock anyone's preference - they just aren't my favorite actions).

I have a Witness 10MM compact on layaway until my permit to buy arrives by mail...........also Dan Wesson makes the 10MM, and after buying a Pointman Major and seeing how accurate that 45 is, I will probably buy the 10MM also later........

I'm a huge 10mm fan...

I'll own a Bren eventually for the novelty of it, but I haven't gotten around to dropping the cash yet.

I have 2 Witness 10mm's (one full, one compact), 2 Glock 20's, a 610 and 1 Colt.

I think the USP would probably lends itself best to the 10mm of all the platforms mentioned so far for a "new" 10mm chambering.

Personally, I'd like to see a Sig 220 chambered in 10mm...

Witness pistols are...

... manufactured in Italy by Tanfoglio. The worst thing that you can do is to disparage a basically good design by calling it an EAA Witness. EAA is the importer and servicing agent for Witness pistol models that are imported into the USA.

Nice design that's aclone of the general CZ planform, but has some interior functional design changes. Still fits like a CZ. Just wish the servicing agent was more "customer oriented". But then with the history I(and more than a few others) have in dealing with EAA, my persoanl "opinion" may be a bit coloured.

NordicG3K,

Oooooo, I'm still turn'in green... that Oly 10mm is sweeet!

I can say for certain that colt has NO plans to reintroduce the Delta Elite or anything else in 10mm!I just bought a stainless delta elite so im not worried anymore:neener:

Sorry,Im just so happy with my purchase:D

10mm in titanium?

Okay, recently at a local shop the owner showed me his latest "hot" item, a 4" S&W .44 mag with nice rosewood grips (w/ finger grooves) that's feather light due to its titanium frame.

I forget the model number (349?). He had exactly one in stock, so I was somewhat lost on why he considered it a "hot" handgun. Still, it was quite the looker with the finish and the nice grips. And the selling point was, of course, it's a big .44 magnum that carries like a Chief's Special for easy portability during all your extended outings in the boonies.

But in a titanium revolver the .44's recoil has to be painfully abusive, which got me thinking about titanium's application in autoloaders, where at least you've got the possibility of stiff springs to control felt recoil.

Just thinking out loud, but what if Smith brought out a limited run of 10mm pistols made, in whole or in part, of titanium - using as the pattern for the run, say, the 4.25" model 1066?

Any interest in something like this?

Agtman, I think titanium could be a good choice for an autoloader frame, but I don't think it would work for the slide in a fast cycling caliber like the 10mm. Heavier springs will slow down the slide, but then you start to get increased battering on the other end as the slide slams back into battery. Personally I don't mind a little extra weight as long as I've got a good rig to carry it in.

Nordic:

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It would probably have to be only partly titanium, and then only in the frame.

And you're right - usually in all-steel guns the trade-off for gaining some recoil-dampening effect over an "energetic" cartridge is a heavier autoloader, not a lighter one. :)

10mm is my favorite caliber, and I've never even fired one! I guess I just thought Miami Vice was really cool back in the day.

Looks like Shooter's Arms is coming out with their inexpensive 1911s in 10mm!

I'd be interested to see how one of these would hold up.

Anyone have any info on the Shooters guns?? They do not list any pricing.

Any experience with them, durability etc.??

What I would really like to see is a commander or CCO 10mm from someone. I have a DW Razorback on order. Myself and others are lobbying DW to do a 10mm in the Commander or CCO, hopefully.

isaidme, congrats on the new Delta, I just got one myself.

CZ100, try www.georgia-arms.com better than $20/50.

CZ-100, If you start reloading you could shoot for a couple of hours on $20 worth of handloaded 10mm. My Glock 20 hasn't fired anything I didn't load in over a year because of my Dillon RL550B.
