I too have loaded tens of thousands of wlp primers and never gotten a light strike. All I have used in large pistol has been wlp in all calibers. Not because of any preference but because I can always find them, even by the case at walmart. I do use other brands in working up more accurate rifle loads but in handguns wlp has been fine. From uncleaned straight from the box guns, to dirty guns to modified steel plate shooting guns. In probably 20 different semi-autos.
Never a light strike. I use blue dot loaded on a single stage press for real 10mm loads, and unique in a progressive for light cast loads. Primed from a bench mounted primer, rcbs hand primer, or the progressive. For whitetail I user 200 gr xtps over blue dot. Going 1200 from the colt. Or 1250 from the 6 inch Glock.
Also never got a light strike in any revolver that i load for with wlp. The only light strike I ever had in a handload was last deer season in a 300 mag, a cci wlrm, In 3 feet of snow and 0 degrees at sundown, in an unproven rifle (patriot) that had been wet all day. The deer all stood still and The next round went off fine. Very possible the rifle and conditions were the issue
