Good news, took my son to Corning college today, move in day at his dorm, he's excited, my wife cried, i got to go to a new gun shop and finally found cci large pistol primers in stock, so now all i have to do is shoot up the 130 rounds i already have loaded using the Winchester primers and i should be good to go :D

Sot of off thread, but
Don't know if it would work on a Glock or not but I have one of these that works fine on my P226 and Springfield XD.

The mount and a Red Dot or a pistol scope might make life easier when you go to hunt with it and would make accuracy testing a bit easier as well..

Oh by they way do your Longshot loads seem louder than factory ammo?

My pistol is the mos modile, designed to mount a electronic sight, will some day get one just not in the budget at the moment, compared to the factory loads i found locally it is like comparing a bb gun to a cannon, this thing is a beast

I think you’ll find the Zero bullets satisfactory for any use. Certainly for shooting deer.
Try RMR, they have some GoldDots and HydraShok pull downs. Also, in house bullets are even less expensive than Zeros.

I’ve never used LongShot in the 10mm, but have in a .40S&W, and didn’t see advertised velocity. For 10mm, I got best results from Acc#7 and BlueDot.

Was surfing the net and saw a video of a guy cleaning his glock using rubbing alcohol, gave it a try, shot 100 of the loads i used the Winchester primers, not a single misfire, will shoot the last of the ones i have loaded tomorrow and see if i have any problems, my dad is coming over to try out his new ruger American 45acp, can't wait I've never shot a 45acp

It was recommended to me (By you?) after a similar mount failed to stay tight on my XDm and it works great.

For accuracy testing in pistol, I normally use a rail mounted laser. I learned quickly, though, not to have the laser adjusted to POI, instead I have it about 2" low so that I don't shoot away the aim point.

I too have loaded tens of thousands of wlp primers and never gotten a light strike. All I have used in large pistol has been wlp in all calibers. Not because of any preference but because I can always find them, even by the case at walmart. I do use other brands in working up more accurate rifle loads but in handguns wlp has been fine. From uncleaned straight from the box guns, to dirty guns to modified steel plate shooting guns. In probably 20 different semi-autos.
Never a light strike. I use blue dot loaded on a single stage press for real 10mm loads, and unique in a progressive for light cast loads. Primed from a bench mounted primer, rcbs hand primer, or the progressive. For whitetail I user 200 gr xtps over blue dot. Going 1200 from the colt. Or 1250 from the 6 inch Glock.
Also never got a light strike in any revolver that i load for with wlp. The only light strike I ever had in a handload was last deer season in a 300 mag, a cci wlrm, In 3 feet of snow and 0 degrees at sundown, in an unproven rifle (patriot) that had been wet all day. The deer all stood still and The next round went off fine. Very possible the rifle and conditions were the issue

I never had a problem with WLP until the other day, I had two light strikes with my S&W 625. Never had a problem before, and then two in one small batch I loaded. They looked like good strikes, but they did go off on the second strike. I'm going to assume for the moment that I did not have them fully seated. But I do remember the guy I bought this gun from telling me that he changed the springs to lighten the trigger pull, so that may have contributed to it.

In my 10mm (Witness Steel) I use 9.5 gr Longshot under an 180gr xtreme HP. I've pushed it to over 10gr with no pressure signs, but don't gain any accuracy over 9.5. And 9.5 runs fast....

I settled on 9.3 grains Longshot with zero bullet 180 grain hp, getting 4 inch groups with it, had to stop testing for now, pulled a tendon in my right elbow so until that heals up I'm done testing.
