Will a 10mm semi-auto stop / kill a charging (Visa, M.C. or A.E., lol:D) BiG Bear if you hit shoulder & vitals with several well rapid placed shots...seriously, though?

What is more viable, realistically (not theoretically...that is obvious .500 )...the ONE shot you may have time for with a S&W .500 and NO follow up...or 3 or so shots from a 10mm Glock?

A "realistic" answer would have to be based on having shot a few bears. I've never shot any living creature but my guess would be the S&W .500 and I bought one with a view to hiking in bear country. BTW, the S&W .500 is great fun to shoot. Nowhere near as difficult to control as almost everyone said. Have used it with 600 grain bullets @1250 fps and 500 gr @ 1425 fps (as well as lighter loads) and it was really not that bad IMO. It's a heavy gun and so perceived recoil is surprisingly low (at least it surprised me).
