10pt shot this morning....

Not enough details in the OP to make any claim of illegal.
So I'd assume legal.
Unfortunately many today get a badge sticker from their Crackerjacks and get all Barney Fife on the web.

Had folks chew my arse, about my Super 16 TC rifle............claiming it was a SBR.............when it's a SUPER16 and says so on the friggin' bbl (actually is 16.25").
It was on Gunfight Friday on F&S and some rube claims I'm a poacher because it's a SBR and not a straight wall case..........was in .35 rem.

The info along with the pic says it's trimmed to meet IND spec...........which BTW has no straightwall mandate. BTW, SBR used to be legal to hunt with here.

Yet this butthead had the nerve to claim I was illegal.

I posted a reply and he went silent.

Had another jerk in a gunshop call me poacher repeatedly, because when Indiana first allowed PCR I shot a deer with a Ruger .44 carbine............and he said the law only allows single shots or lever guns.
The law is cartridge based only................but his stupid arse couldn't/wouldn't understand that.

He kept running his mouth. Told him to call the CO, or lose his remaining dental features.
He shut up and left.

If one questions something fine, ask for clarification.
And do it politely.
Got no problem with that.
If one puts something out there for public display, they should at least respond to the initial round of questioning.
After that though, I don't think an OP has to do anything more.

And I don't think an OP has to do anything beyond stating "it was legal- thanks for your concern".

Me? I assume that a public post is more than likely displaying a legal action/event. There is no anonymity on the web. Sure some criminals are stupid. But not all.
Therefore I will rightly or wrongly, assume a non detailed post/pic to be legal.

Ahem...

More details here.

had 5 and a half hours of chemo yesterday so couldn't sleep last nite like after every treatment, the steroids. so I packed up and went hunting, planning to hunt a field and lake bank out of my mini truck. was real windy, about 15 to 25 and 30 degrees. got set up about a quarter to 6, started getting light around 6:35. the buck came at a fast walk from a point of woods crossing a field I was watching out of the front windshield, was really planning on shooting down the lake bank or down a grassy road out either window but he had different plans. had to get out, propped on the front windshield and popped him at a fast walk at 200 yards with my AR. dropped like a sack of bricks. was shooting 62gr brownbear SP's. I've never had a deer walk from one of my AR's, and was glad he didn't cause the river was about 80 yards in front of him. anyway, a good hunt, now it's time for a hot shower and a long nap. everything but the backstraps and tenderloins will be made into link sausage. started sleeting right after the hunt.

I just looked at Mississipi hunting regs, and I was surprised they still have deer hunting till late January, but my understanding is you have to use dogs..I didn't think hunting deer with dogs was legal anywhere,I guess you learn something every day

His post there states location "Mississippi Delta". He might reside in AR, but hunt in TN, LA or MS

Still not explaining the date of the kill.
Like Nature Boy said he might reside in Arkansas, but hunt in another state.

If it's not posted somewhere I don't have the answer to that though. :Shrug

Explains the shooting from the vehicle question though.

So they operate on an antler restriction in one of his hunting areas..............and some folks blast lesser deer as "culls" against the law.
That 10 pointer doesn't look like a cull buck to me.

Same with LA, this Sunday is last day of season. Also a state where dogs are run.

You know me bikerdoc, I'm a detective.
Now the very same thing happened in Mississippi by a poor fella with chemo treatments.
As a matter of fact, the exact same deer. This troll copied and pasted a story from a fella who has 12.687 posts on Gunboards dot com. Here's the link.

I guess you can hang this one up.

Well maybe we know why he's not responded. Hopefully he will. I wish him well in his treatments. Based on his posts on that other forum, he seems like a decent, gracious guy.

I really doubt it's the same guy from Mississippi that really shot the deer.
