Just started reloading. Been gathering components, equipment and knowledge over the last year. I finally have my operation up and running. But, I have one problem. I cannot seem to find any solid load data for 115gr 9mm RN (X-Treme bullets) with Bullseye powder. Very frustrating. So far I have loaded up ten rounds using the 115gr TMJ data in my Speer #14:

115gr RN .355
4.2gr
COAL 1.135

Am I on the right track for a simple target load? Any shove in the right direction for good load data would be awesome. Thank you.

Without me looking at any manuals, just the Bullseye data online it sounds about right.

Plated bullets should be loaded at the low to middle of the the load data for FMJ. So if if Speer 14 has a START load of 4.2 you ae good,

The COL can vary depending on your barrel. Did you plunk test it? Drop a round in the barrel (out of the gun) it should plunk in and then turn over it should fall out.

+1 on the rule3 advise. bullseye is a very fast powder. make sure you don't double charge the load. consistency is the key.

welcome to the wacky world of reloading.

You are probably on the right track. I used the same load for 124gr Xtreme, so you should be on the safe side.

Work up the load and find the most accurate load for your gun.

You can't get 8.4 grains of Bullseye in a 9mm Luger case. IMHO a 'double charge' is FAR more prevalent in reloaded revolver loads (think 38 Special). You DO have to check your powder drops, however. As you are new to the game, think about purchasing a powder check die (RCBS makes same) for piece of mind.

Welcome to The High Road.....

4.2grn bullseye should be right in the sweet spot with a 115g plated bullet. I would double check the 1.135 OAL to make sure it plunks and you should be good to go.

Thanks guys!

Plunk tested them in my G19 OEM, Lonewolf and Sig P938 barrels. Good to go. For piece of mind I weighed each charge even after I calibrated the powder dropper. Cant wait to get to the range and see how they do!

I used a pound of bullseye last year. Ditto on the above advice. I prefer Power Pistol, BE-86 and CFE Pistol for 9mm for the performance and the impossibility of double charge. That said, if you're careful - not a problem

my experience, without a chrono, is I get more recoil from plated bullets at the same charge as from montana gold. This seems true in all my 9mms. Start low and work up. Some powders (ex: Titegroup in .45 acp) are very dirty at the low end of the range but burn clean at 50% or better. Be patient, persistent and methodical while keeping good records.

X-Treme bullets are plated. Any cast 115 grain data will do. 4.2 of Bullseye is the starter load for a jacketed 115(like a TMJ). Should do nicely. 1.125" OAL though.
Only ever load cast 121 grain TC's(truncated cone) myself. 3.5 of Bullseye, as I recall. 4.8 is max for one of them so 4.2 is dandy.
Oh, and the shape of the bullet doesn't matter. Just the weight.
