135 gr LRN 9mm using w231/edit: also wst

I'm about to start loading up these for the first time. Can't find any loading data for this combo (135 gr LRN 9mm/w231). I was told 3.5-4.2gr. Does anyone have any published load data they would like to share?

Hodgdon lists the following for 130 gr Berry's plated bullets, not lead bullets - http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp
130 gr Berry's RN W231 Diameter .356" OAL 1.150" Start 3.9 gr (903 fps) 27,600 PSI - Max 4.3 gr (1005 fps) 33,000 PSI

1999 Winchester load data lists 3.3-4.0 gr for 124 gr lead RN and 3.3-3.5 gr for 147 gr lead FP bullet - http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=159609&stc=1&d=1329800605

Lyman #49 lists 3.0-4.1 gr of W231 for 120 gr lead RN bullet at 1.065" OAL.

I would measure the diameter of the 135 gr LRN bullet you have first and slug your barrel to determine the groove diameter. If the barrel's groove diameter is .355"-.356" and the diameter of the bullet is .356"-.357", you should be ok (Ideally, you want the bullet diameter to be .001"+ larger than the groove diameter of the barrel).

Next conduct the barrel drop test to determine the max OAL and function check to identify the working OAL for your pistol - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=8864541#post8864541

If your working OAL comes out around 1.100"-1.135", I would consider using 3.3 gr as my start charge and work up towards 3.6 - 3.8 gr.

FYI, I use various 125 gr lead RN bullets at 1.100"-1.125" OAL with 3.8-4.0 gr of W231.

You can also call or write Hodgdon and ask them. They are usually very helpful with any powders from Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester which they distribute.

Just to follow up. I found several people posting a 135 gr LRN load using WST. I got really lucky and found a pound at the local shop. Going to load up 4 grains @ 1.150" OAL. This was the load I've seen recommended several times and listed on a few reloading sites.

Disclaimer: do your own research and double check for typos. Do not rely on this data alone.

I use 4.0gr HP38 (same load data as W231) with an OAL of 1.130 for 135gr LRN bullets by Magnus. They make about 1020fps out of my CZ75B. YRMV.
