I have some hard cast 140gr LRNFP 18-20 bhn size at .358", I would like to try these bullets with 2400 and small pistol primers. I plan on trying 13.5-14.5gr for starters. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I will be shooting these loads in a Ruger Sec. Six w/a 2.75" barrel.

The current Lyman 4th Edition Cast Bullet Handbook doesn't list a 140gr bullet but they do list a 150gr bullet. The charge range with 2400 is 11.0gr to 15.0gr so your charge range of 13.5gr to 14.5gr is reasonable. Since your bullet is 140gr you can go even higher than 15.0gr 2400 if you want. how much higher I wouldn't say but at least you know 15.0gr is safe with that 140gr lead bullet since it's safe for a 150gr lead bullet.

Hope that helps a little...
