14th Ammendment challenge of 2A Rights vs State law question

I goofed. I actually forgot about President Andrew Johnson, who followed Lincoln. My bad.

However, Johnson didn't block the 14th. In doing some digging it's obvious he tried, and his veto of similar legislation prior to the 14th was overridden in Congress.

Some have considered the 14th illegitimate because Southern states were forced to ratify it on condition of being allowed off "rebel status".

While that's true, sorry, they had it coming.

By 1858 South Carolina created a crime for any minister who preached abolition from the pulpit, on pain of death. Hey, if you're going to poop all over the First Amendment, might as well nail TWO major clauses at once (speech, religion), right?

I could go on and on and ON about the civil rights violations the South committed. It had to end, at gunpoint if necessary, hell at aerial carpet-bombing if that had been available.

Want to make ABSOLUTELY sure educated folk see this forum as a hotbed of racism and white supremacy? Keep talkin' about that bad old 14th Amendment. Hugh, I'm talking directly to you here: stop it.
