I was at 2 different gunshop's recently in Massachusetts and saw one shop had Beretta 92, 9mm, pre-ban 15 round mags for sale and the other shop had Walther P99 9mm pre-ban 15 round mags for sale.

Since these 2 gunshops are selling them openly I would think they are legal, however, I would like to confirm legality before purchasing any.

Can anyone confirm?,
Web site's on Massachusetts pre-ban mag laws?

Definition of "large capacity feeding device" here. Ban on post-ban magazines here.

In short, the Federal AWB has been adopted in MA. It is my understanding that no one has ever been prosecuted under the MA statute regarding hicap mags, but I am not a lawyer (yet) so don't take that as legal advice to that you are good to go regardless. If a gun shop is selling a pre-ban mag in MA, chances are pretty good it is indeed a pre-ban mag and is legal (as long as you have a Class A license).

Section 131M. No person shall sell, offer for sale, transfer or possess an assault weapon or a large capacity feeding device that was not otherwise lawfully possessed on September 13, 1994.

How about that ! ALL my full-capacity magazines were in my possession prior to 9-13-94 :D :D :D

The good news is very few mags have a manufacture date stamped on them.

The Law states, in your possesion before 9-13-94, not made before that date. Its almost the same here in Maryland. It is Illegal to buy or sale High caps in Maryland but not illegal to own. So we drive 10 min north or south into PA or WV and buy them, then drive home and its perfectlly legal!
