I have a Winchester 1500 xtr and have no idea how to breakdown. I bought it in great condition used w/out a manual. I,ve been searching on the internet w/out luck. I did find another thread on another site were some one had mentioned the 1400 being very similar but can not find anything on that one either. Does any one have any suggestions or know how to break one down them selves?

I also have a Winchester 1500XTR 12ga. Unscrew the end cap and carefully slide forearm and barrel assembly forward together until clear of the magazine tube. Hold assembly tightly together while removing and until you get used to the procedure. The magazine tube slides into the bottom hollow of the forearm beneath the barrel channel. Remove receiver pin to drop the trigger assembly. To reassemble: Cock the bolt. Place the forearm back onto the barrel. Slide this assembly carefully together over the magazine tube. You will see again that the magazine tube slides inside the bottom hollowed portion of the forearm under the barrel channel. When completely seated replace end cap.
